Re: Leeds Utd v Derby County Match Thread - Forshaw still out, no new injury concerns
The second you take Harrison off that left side becomes extremely vunerable..Harrison is the balance. That error and Bamfords really poor finishing have cost us again

There you go. Thats what you get for 2nd rate finishing and Leeds will go all season like this unless stubborn Bielsa changes his ways. No sympathy at all for the clowns.

But our manager refuses to sub Bamford until it's too late. Why? And taking Harrison off didn't work.....

Very disappointed, especially as I'm sat here with a fat face very painful dental abcess. Thought the lads might cheer me up

He could have given Eddie longer. How can anyone be expected to get into a game in the last ten minutes. Why can't Bielsa see it?

I just don't get our attitude in the 2nd half, were we just knackered or just very naive ??

Football is not black and white. Taking Bamford off may give us the pacy threat off Nketiah but Bamford does a lot of work occupying their defenders, suddenly their defenders have more time, they can pass from the back, their players have more pass options, they can push higher etc. It is a fine balance. For 60 minutes Derby didn't have a touch in our box and were 1-0 down, the subs happened and we lost our control. That is why all these people who start saying do this, do that and just expect it to work don't really understand how slight changes can go really wrong and upset the balance of a machine.

Its actually getting embarrassing for Leeds. So much dominance but the opposition know they're always in the game against our clowns. Yet another embarrassment at home but will The Stubborn One change his ways...will he *uck !

Because the fans think the issue is Harrison, it's not, he's key on our left and I think the look at Bamford after the last cross he delivered for him spoke a thousand words. Bamford's movement is poor imo, always thought so, his positioning and decision making is poor and he scores when it falls well for him. He's often behind the defender, and there was an incdent today with Jack going into the box where he pulled it back to where Bamford was going only to find Bamford had switched directions way too late and made it look like a Harrison c**k up
Right now I'd say they cannot play together, I can't recall a Harrison to Bamford goal, there must be a couple but I'm struggling.
Rant over

Moments turn matches. Klich scores his penalty (earned by Bamford's persistence) and I'm 99.99% sure we win that game, and there are no complaints about tactics and substitutions.

Bielsa has to take the blame for that, I don't care no excuses. It was obvious after Forest Bamford can't start at home. We got away with it against Brentford, but that's 7 points we've thrown away now and don't tell me any of them deserved them. I said it was obvious after Forest and I got called reactionary. So what is it now? Better hope we win every away game as that's the only chance we have of promotion.
How many fcking chances does Bamford need?

Until the penalty miss complete domination still. That gave Derby a huge lead as they knew that one chance was still all they needed. It probably knocked the stuffing out of our players mentally too. 2-0 game over, 1-0 different story. 2-0 we get a lift and our energy levels probably go up 10 to 20% and we likely get a 3rd or 4th. 2-0 Derby players know it is over, they become even more tired than they already are and limp to a heavy, and deserved defeat.
It would have been better that we hadn't had the penalty kick at all. F*cking FA cheating now and instructing refs to give us penalties.

We all know it will be the same team again next time. Wasting Nketiah and Arsenal will recall him in January.

1-0 simply isn't enough to sit back. Only 4 goals at home. Yet Nketiah gets ten mins. If he was starting, we win 3-0.

Because he's old and stubborn. He may well be the reason Leeds don't go up. PB is not a natural finisher. Harrison is not a good provider. No other team in this league would have Costa on the bench and may be not even Eddie. Its actually becoming laughable at what Bielsa is doing. I've rarely seen any sense in his substitutions but now his first choice 11 has become bewildering. Costa wasn't involved with 23s so why is he left on the bench. Take the bloody leash off these players and put games to bed instead of creating a situation where panic sets in due to a 'striker' who cannot take his chances. Klich missed a penalty but we really shouldn't be relying on penalties and own goals to win such one sided matches every week.whiteswan wrote: He could have given Eddie longer.
