Seen the goal back.
Why is Ayling marking fresh air while Collins stands free as a bird?
Was he not alsothe player who lost his man for the Blackburn goal to?
Defensively Ayling leaves a lot to be desired, prefer Dallas at rb tbh.

I can't understand why Bielsa hasn't exerted more pressure on the club, unless he genuinely thinks he can cope without additional players in such important positions.1964white wrote:

If you listened to the 2 Luton commentators it was, and the flag was far far too late
Hopelessly lost.................. But making good time

Re: Luton Town v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Hernandez starts, Costa and Cooper on the bench
It seemed KP just caught his foot, I have seen them given lets put it that way.
Re their disallowed goal, I have watched it a few times frame by frame , but there isnt as yet any behind the goal or in line video feed.
First of all awful defending again to allow them the original chance then Kiko instead of knocking it to his left seems to use his feet and the ball comes straight back out.
The original chance wasn't offside but it looked like the player who hit the rebound was slightly ahead of three Leeds defenders.
Harsh to chalk off by millimetres.
What made it trickier was that the Leeds player who was there to block the original cross was on the goal line but obviously ruled as "not active"

Stupid twots
Linesmen are now instructed to put their flags up late
Those idiots were ranting about Roberts running off from the middle of the pitch (at least he was running not wasting time). The rule where subs had to walk around the pitch from where they were injured was scrapped due to safety reasons
Someone needs to hand those idiots a footy rule book to stop them spouting a load of bias crap over the airwaves

Having watched the replays of their disallowed goal, it was clearly off side
Re Izzy's foul, could have gone either way, but he seamed to fall over a second after contact...so he played for it and it back fired, just my opinion

Down to the manager though really, he was happy with three CBS and Berardi as one of them. Berardi has done really well overall playing there, he’s just liable more than others to mess up as it’s not his natural position. A frustrating one alright

So who would be this defender that we could have brought in that would be happy to sit on the bench just waiting for injuries and suspensions and would also be better than Berardi?
I don't blame Berardi at all for the goal as he goes to block an initial cross from Brown, who he shouldn't even have had to be marking/tackling, but Brown shows considerable skill and speed to instead not cross and accelerate into a space and then put in a great cross.

Other clubs have proper back-up CB'sweasel wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 7:47 am So who would be this defender that we could have brought in that would be happy to sit on the bench just waiting for injuries and suspensions and would also be better than Berardi?

Yes Berardi did get done for sheer pace from some great play by Brown who then did what we often fail to do by immediately planting a perfect ball onto the head of Collins where Ayling had lost his man at the back post. The problem was there to be seen as we were caught out in the air a couple of times, thankfully Bielsa saw it & once Cooper came on we took control & looked comfortable again. Proper CB's position themselves much better. Cooper & White are much more efficient in the air than the likes of Berardi & Ayling who are basically full-backs not CB's.

My thoughts too.1964white wrote: Thought Brown went down far too easily, I'd need to see that incident again Ian

Just saw the "foul" on Brown and it was a blatant dive. Just because most refs fall for that these days, it doesn't make it a foul. Well done referee.

I know I sound like a broken record but playing with just two recognised CB's & two strikers in your squad in a league that consists of 46 games over a season is dangerous especially if there are no back-ups in those positions coming through the U23 set-up. With the amount of injury-prone players we have within our ranks it's essential we have enough players who can play in their natural positions.

Re: Luton Town v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Hernandez starts, Costa and Cooper on the bench
this result for me papers over the cracks a bit -yes we are now 3 points clear of third and its a great result but we're having the same problems every single game right now - putting the ball in the back of the net. If it's not bamford or klich missing the chances, then its the opportunity being ruined by a bad pass etc. Promotion really does depend at this stage on whether we can scrape together enough goals to win enough games because there will be plenty (judging on this performance) where we aren't able to score enough goals to win games.

No Luton player completed more passes than Leeds goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, (22 in all).
