You're using the aforementioned results to justify we're not mentally strong enough? ..Why can't other teams WORSE results indicate the same thing. You cannot jump to these conclusions, there's no evidence. We didn't even play badly today. Just the victims of a series of unfortunate events.
Plenty of evidence going back 4 seasons to suggest (its just my opinion) that a lot of these players dont have the winning mentality you need to win promotion.

The day we know for a fact we HAVE to win to go top we concede more goals then we have at any point this season for one.

I dont know which side has the mental strength for promotion, but we didnt last season despite being top at New year or top 6 at new year the 2 seasons before that or 3 points ahead of 2nd with 4 games to go last season or during the playoff 2nd leg last season.

We have a history of failing when the pressure is on as a club.

We didnt play badly no, the attacking play was very good, just a really crap half hour which shouldn't be allowed to happen.

Hopefully its just a blip, but i havent just decided this now i said last season the same thing so i can at least say im consistent. :)

Range of emotions today, such a high how we performed first half, such a low how we crumbled the last 25 minutes, the defence will take a lot of blame for the goals but if we had put the other 4 great chances we had before they scored their first, it wouldn't have mattered, too much of a gap in front of Phillips.

One thing I noticed today was Paddy coming deeper to recieve the ball playing it wide to then run into a forward position, the way he played it, to me showed if called upon he could play the 10 with Nketiah in front of him.
Thought Alio would have been the first sub on tbh, the game seemed to be crying out for him.

Disappointed but not despondent, like a few seem to be, we were the better team and we were sucker punched, if we are constantly outplayed then I'll worry but as it is I'll look at it as just a bad day at the office but still on an unbeaten run.

I just totally disagree that we are fragile and vulnerable
the last 10 games totally disprove that. I reject the idea
that something clicks inside the players heads and suddenly
they become mentally weak and lack confidence... and if what
you are saying is true, how do you propose that that switch
can be flipped, so the players regain their fighting spirit.
What regime would you impose to help them regain faith
in themselves. What solutions do you have to get the team
back on track.

What I think is that a draw is a big disappointment to you, and many others
and to justify the draw to yourself, you have to blame the players
for mental weakness and fragility. If you are living in an intense state of
excitement and happiness due to the Euphoria of winning and being top
of the league, then defeat in any form is a bitter pill to swallow.

But this too must pass.

We have all been raving about the goals scored by Leeds on the counter attack
but Bielsa said what is more important is to give the fans the experience of
enjoying the football that their team plays. It seems that a draw is not enough
even though for most of the game we were the best team.

That’s two points thrown away, you can’t switch off in this league and to this teams credit, they’ve been very solid, so just a blip, but we seem to be getting our attack sorted so we have no reason to fear any gane

I see a lot of bemoaning the lack of mental strength yet here we are, losing our heads.

Bad result given the first 60 minutes, obviously gutting but we’ve just won seven on the bounce. The mental strength will be shown next weekend and how the players respond to this.

Hey were doing great bit kiko for me is a walking catastrophe. Why he came for that cross I will never understand?! He's made a lot of important saves for us recently but always had a mistake in him which for me is a really worrying attribute. Let's hope his mistakes don't cost us enough points to cost us promotion

Of course I'm disappointed we chucked two points away, defensively we were fragile & poor. If I'm not allowed to make that comment well I'll give up & let you all carry on seeing the defensive shambles through rose-tinted spectacles. How can anyone be happy with a point

Btw I think we'll win at Fulham next Saturday

It's not Bielsa's fault , it's not the player's fault it's my fault cause I said game over after the Bamford penalty lol.

Seriously talk about wrist slitting after drawing , the World is coming down.... get a grip some of you.
As much as we were in control and that should of not happened we have gone on a 10 game unbeaten run .
We have players such as Roberts, Cooper, Shackleton, Forshaw still to come back so all is not lost , let's hope we can regroup and learn from today.

Defence fragile ?
We haven't had a goal against us the previous 4 games before Cardiff and now we are fragile , the best defence in the League and we are fragile.
I get the disappointment of chocking something we were in total control of but we just don't turn crap all of a sudden.

Hopefully the fact we have a full week until our next fixture will help the team recover from the hurt of today.

But sporting psychology is a fully recognised discipline, maybe Victor O should be looking forward in that area to assist the players.

But at 3-1 good teams know to close out the game not continue pushing players up the park. But we continued attacking wave after wave when the game is won. Bench could have assisted but MB seems to go like for like with his subs. No need.

Something else too. Us. MB has given us more expectation than hope.

At 3-1 all that expectation came rolling off the stands in waves of negative emotion. It affected the players. Nervousness can be contagious in a sporting arena.

But lessons to be learned and thankfully, unlike April 2019 time and space to learn them.

Business as usual soon.

3-0 up at home to Cardiff with 30 mins to go. We should not have lost that game. I'm not going to pontificate the why's, how's, if's or buts.....be negative or positive about our previous and future games.....Quite simply, we should have won that match. After all, this thread is about this particular game, not the previous 7, or the next game, or the one after that. It's about the Cardiff game which really should have been three points in the bag!

Wake up I was referring to yesterday game not our previous ten, we defended horribly at times so much so it reminded of the Derby play-off fiasco all over again. Cardiff, Sheff Wed & Millwall have bullied us at the back bombarding us from long throw-ins & crosses, ironic as we have struggled at the back without Cooper there in all three games, unfortunately we have no alternative to replace him for these type of games, any fan who denies that need to go to Specsavers

Now lets have a big decent recognised CB in the January Window to stop this happening again as oppose to playing with a midget or throwing a kid on who is clearly not ready for first-team football

Don't be saying that Swannie, fans on here find that 30 minutes fiasco in the 2nd half acceptable

Hopefully we have a big CB in place for the visits of Owls & Millwall fixtures in January or it could be more of the same :(
