We had chances though and didn't take them so that bit is on us but we didn't deserve to lose that by any stretch and bar a very soft pen we wouldn't have.

The lack of creativity with no Pablo and Costa is clear.
And there lyes the problem...take a link out of the chain and it falls apart. There should be more than 2 players with a bit of creativity but there isn't. We are back to missing golden chances. The refs performance is irrelevant if we take the chances. On paper we should've walked it but the reality is only ourselves will deny us promotion. Preston next so I hope the defence have an extra spring in their jump otherwise we all know the outcome.

Drunken assessment:

- Ref showing as much judgement and acumen as the blokes stumbling out of my local kebab shop at 2am
- Mitrovich resembling a failed erection for most of the match
- Our players visibly getting frustrated and unfocused as time went on like fannies instead of pulling together and going for it
- Bamford and Eddie experiment failed in my eyes, should bring Bogusz to the bench next time
- Mitrovich falling over like a pissed up chav pitting his wits against a kerb after closing time

Not much of a tactical assessment I know but it feels appropriate. A shambles of a game right from the off and I wouldn't feel good about it were I a Fulham fan.

Every player can cover 11 positions...they just happen to be shite in10 of them and just about capable in the other one.

Very disappointing result. We were on course in the first half, barring the penalty. When we scored second half, I thought we were also on course. At that point, Fulham stepped up the physicality, pressed us, knocked us over, never gave us a second to dwell on the ball. It was too frenetic, with passes being chosen in an instant, quite often inaccurately. As usual we had our chances, but as usual, we needed too many of them to get the equaliser/winner. However, on the bright side, things could be worse. We still have a nine-point gap and WBA are showing frailties too. From what I have seen so far, Fulham at home will be a match for most teams. To go and win against a potential top 3 contender, is no foregone conclusion, much as we would like it to be.

That was the worst Fulham side ive seen in years imo.

No where near previous sides which makes this even more frustrating.

Agree with all of that.

Problem is BielsaBall is about the group not the individual, man for man Fulham are far better.

But we are a superior team as a group all being well.

Is worrying that that's 2 games now where yes unlucky but we were partially to blame ourselves, missing chances and sloppy.

We do need to strengthen in January, think we all know that, think the overuse of Pablo highlights that.

Take Pablo and Costa out and we are relying on the system but sometimes you need that individual class that we lack and have for ages imo.

Not to downhearted yet, frustrated and worried (mainly about squad depth) but we will perform worse and win.

3 minutes in, we lose our playmaker
3 minutes later, they are awarded a penalty, that wasn't
Lots of niggly fouls from them go unpunished
Twice their players go down in the penalty box, no contact, ref doesn't even have a word.

If We'd have got anything out of this, it would have been impressive, we were on a loser from the start.

Agreed. This is just the kind of result we should bounce back from.

End of the day results elsewhere mean the drop points in the last 2 matches have only seen us reduce our 10 point gap to 9 points. Okay WBA are a little further ahead but that is fairly irrelevant as top 2 is all that matters rather than top1. We lost today but again it wasn't like we were outplayed or that the opposition rained shots down on us, think they had 3 on target and 1 of those was the penalty. We didn't get the rub of the green today, a penalty that was never a penalty, a penalty that Kiko was then unlucky not to save, we then hit the post etc

And to be honest I felt we played poorly yet even playing poorly we were a match for the 3rd placed team in the division.

Let’s get real here, WBA bring on Charlie Austin, proven class goal scorer, us? No depth plus a manager who is happy with Bamford, really?

Doesnt sound like MB was impressed particularly with the Eddie and Paddy experiment.

Doubt we will see that again.

Eddie just doesnt fit the system and thats what matters.

I've had doubts for a while and I honestly don't think Eddie is a fit, not saying he's not a good player but ...

That was different, a folly completely of our own making. This just simply smacked of injustice right from the off. We could point fingers at ourselves quite squarely in the last game but this time, the concession from the corner, fair enough but for the foolishness of the referee we might never have found ourselves in that position. It might sound like making excuses but I don't know what we could've done to affect the outcome of this game from the outset.

On top of that, the last result was a draw. This is a defeat, not just a kick up the backside but a real kick in the balls. It might spur the club into action off the field as well as on it...
