I would rather be grateful of their efforts and get behind them when they make mistakes than I would blame them for costing us points here and there.

I do get it, recent weeks have been really frustrating, but we are in this position because we have good players playing excellent football for a exceptional manager.

We are getting 100% effort from every player every week. I cannot remember a time like this supporting Leeds in my lifetime.
Sorry that is a bit like man meets beautiful lady, they are such a great match, they enjoy a whirlwind romance, discuss marriage, starring a family, building a life together.

Then she leaves him standing in the church, heart in bits and mortgaged to the hilt. He has run off with his best mate.

No amount of reminders that it was fun while it lasted will suffice.

As one poster mentioned it's a culmination of factors.

Biesla for picking the same players week in week out, sticking to a system that's currently falling. Applying the same methods and expecting a different result, that's worrying.

Radz for sanctioning the sales of Viera, Jansson, Woods, Cooke, Taylor and Roofe, further weakening the side and all too often replaced with substandard players. The signing of Bamford.

Orta for being one of the worst head of recruitment, but he's a passionate fan, so I guess we can overlook that.

Players for not doing the basics, and lacking the mental resilience, when it's really needed.

Kinnear, well, just for being a twat.

Having said that, it's still in our hands and all to play for. I am just not feeling that confident at the moment.

This week the answer was simple.

Harrison and Bamford missed simple goals early on. Goals that real strikers bury 90%+ of the time.

Also, Bielsa for not making any effective changes before and during the game.

I’m not buying this got to know the system crap. A real striker can and will get on the end of it no matter the system. It isn’t that hard to work out where to be when every single forward movement looks exactly the same as the last.

To not have JKA on the bench was stupid. The kid is a gun for this level. Could absolutely have made a difference. To not use our subs to at least try and change the pattern was ridiculous.

I’m fuming at Bielsa for not having both the new guys on the pitch yesterday.

We don’t need replacements for Nketiah and Clarke we need replacements for Roberts and Bamford.

rab_rant wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 9:17 pm Self-fulfilling prophecy refers to the socio-psychological phenomenon of someone "predicting" or expecting something, (a loss against Wigan last year was the beginning of our downfall) and this “prediction” or expectation comes true simply because one believes it will, and their resulting behaviors align to fulfil those beliefs.

(Kiko has a few nightmare games and every body says the team is too small and we suffer from burnout) This suggests peoples' beliefs influence their actions. (If you all believe that this is what is going to happen then it will happen)

Believe it or not I can predict the future. I said if JKA does not play and we lose then there will be a backlash against Bielsa. It is all so predictable. I think I will call it the Nketiah effect. If your expectations are not fulfilled then you propose an alternative, and when it also fails the simmering frustration turns to seething rage.

From the point of view of form and statistics Leeds should have won this game. The bookies were laying odds of 3/8 on and the over riding sentiment in the predictions thread was that we would give Wigan a thrashing. We all had the belief we would put this jinx to bed with a solid win... the comeback against Millwall had inspired that hope... and that was reinforced by us being at the top of the table.

So what went wrong? Well we just disregarded the stats the form and the odds and believed in the self fulfilling prophesy... be it unto you according to the words of your mouths.

Thus spake Zarathustra or Nostradamus. I don't give too much credence to the self-fulfilling prophecy stuff. I guess from a more existential view, where we have some self-responsibility and often the architects for success or failure. Some environmental factors are beyond our control, such as appalling decisions from refs, but generally we have some control over events.

Connor feels & shares the same frustration of the majority of Leeds fans, not all on here it would seem here but hey-ho.

The lad is absolutely bang on

So the injury-prone Roberts who knows the system gets the nod over Poveda & Augustin (sat in the stands)

What impact did he make?

Same old same old I would suggest

Perhaps you do not understand the use of analogy, but in any case some of us have ambitions for the club.

It's all well and good playing nice football, but ultimately we have failed two seasons in a row when in a wonderful position for promotion. Next season will be disastrous as we will have no team and no money and will be left with the same failures again.

Compare the Millwall Conor to the Wigan Conor. it is day and night... it is cheese and chalk.

The double minded man is unstable in all of his ways... think not that he will receive anything from the Lord (Bamford)

A rudderless ship tossed about by the waves of misfortune.

I expect Bamford is doing that right now.

Forget about blame. We now have a week for this group of well paid professional footballers and the highly paid manager to sort out physically and mentally what we need to do to get back on track against Forest, its time for them all to earn their money !! IMO we need to bring in our 2 new guys plus Shackleton.....it may be disastrous but we won't know until we try something different.

How have we failed this season, we're second with 16 games to play.

If we're second after 46 games, then that is something to celebrate, but not now. These players don't have it in them to get promoted and we're seeing the same issues as last season that have not been addressed. Bielsa won't change it up or try something different, so why will we have a different result?

But the fact is, we haven't failed, you said we have.
