I'm definitely not advocating sacking him. That would be a foolish thing to do at this point of the season. BUT it has been clear for quite some time that things are not working out like we all want them to. The system doesn't seem to be changing and the players are not being changed. The one person who can fix it or attempt to fix it still seems reluctant to do anything different. I believe that's what is frustrating and annoying to most of the people who just want our team to be successful.

It's the hope that kills you, Bielsa gave me that, but he now started to make me resent him for it because he can't sort it out.
By his own metric, things were working up until this point, when we were playing well and creating enough chances to win, even if things went against us.

Today we didn't play well or create those chances, so the reasons for keeping the team the same are no longer there.

We'll find out on Tuesday.

If you had two things to change now, what would you do?
As you travelled back tonight, what were they saying?
Cheers Ian, watching Leeds is self-inflicted so please don't feel sorry for me ;-)

I'd probably make nine changes for the Brentford game, five of them positional

Meslier for Casilla
Ayling for Dallas
Dallas for Alioski
White back in his CB role for Ayling
Berardi for Cooper
Phillips for White/Dallas
Hernandez for Costa
Shackleton for Hernandez/Roberts
Augustin for Bamford (if big Kev is fit to start)

Fans at the ground & on our coach were making similar comments as have been mentioned on this topic

faaip wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2020 11:14 pm Lets get back to players in their proper positions. A proper LB, Alio on the bench, Ayling back to right back. We get Kalvin back so that's good. Pablo to Right wing and Costa on the bench. Shack to the #10. Twice today he was first in the box creating a second front so to speak. Something we've missed all season really. JK starts and Poveda on the bench if fit (I'm assuming something kept him out today as we must have promised him a match day spot to get him to come here)

Sick of sounding like a broken record with my saying SPIRH

Over the long term it doesn't work, probably confuses players at this level

Still scratching my head how Jack managed 18 votes to win the MOTM on our coach :chair:

Jack struggled tonight, but who didnt?

He had a chance to hook the ball upfield before it went to 0-2 but his passing was off, as was his crossing was awful too. But Costa failed too.

Worst team performance all season

Again who would they be crossing to? It's also why both try to hold the ball up a little too much rather than go for the first time cross...We had 4/5 what I'd call dangerous crosses today in the right area ...no one there.

Harrison and Costa are wingers not strikers, and the way MB likes his wingers to defend means they're not playing as forwards either

But Jack's worst game of the season I agree but every player is allowed one or two.

Starting to feel really sorry for Dallas, its got to the point i dont think even he knows what his position is meant to be and from being an important member of the team he has become a total waste of space.

Cooper is not a quality ball playing cb, thats a myth, aside from his defensive issues he is painfully slow moving the ball, every pass takes 2 or 3 seconds to long and is easily read because he stares in the direction its going for an eternity.

By moving Ben White to dm MB weakened 2 areas rather then just 1.

Costa is starting to annoy me, despite obvious talent its clear that our entire system of overloads totally ruins the key ingredient he needs, space (something MB admitted earlier).

Harrison is the 2nd most wasteful player behind Paddy infront of goal and his desire to take 1 2 3 extra touches or beat a man 2 or 3 times same as last season is maddening, the 2nd goal summed him up.

JKA in his brief cameo showed glimpses, he carried the ball through the middle a bit which is such a rare joy for us these days.

It would be really nice if we could try something different.

JKA, Shacks, Poveda, just try those 3 and see what happens.

All of them are capable it seems of carrying the ball rather then relying on pass and move, it would be different.

Worst performance of the season

Positives

Ayling even though he was playing CB, led us more than our current captain
Klich
Augustin's debut
Shackleton back
Kalvin back for the Brentford game
Positional changes required on Tuesday night.

Negatives

One on target, Samba makes one save
13 shots off target
70% possession......for what?
Gifting goals like Santa Claus.
We are so predictable.
Every championship coach knows our next pass/move & weaknesses, we've been sussed out!
White is not a DM, looked out of his comfort zone.
Casilla beaten at his near post once again.
Alioski lucky not to be sent off the silly little tw*t, he is not a defender FFS.
Cooper's header, heads the ball as if he has a head like a 50p piece.
Was Bamford playing?
Costa a waste of space & money. Another dross signing from Orta.
Losing possession in dangerous areas, Pablo for the first, Jack for the 2nd goal.
Bielsa is polishing turds.
Our corners/crosses as bad as ever.
Casilla, Alioski, Costa, Bamford & Captain Chaos should be dropped.
Will Bielsa be ruthless enough? I doubt it
Appalling atmosphere, our fans have been numbed by our woeful displays. Never heard Forest fans so loud!

Ayling looks broken and lost.

This is where MB earns his money now, forget tactics and training, man management is needed.

Also i read we dont have a sports psychologist?

Thought it was pretty common these days? Maybe we need one.

Ayling sounds genuinely nervous, at least he came out of the game with credit

Bielsa & Ayling need to give some of those players a kick up the backside

He certainly does Cjay.

If ever an interview of a player smacks of disillusionment then this is it! ( not necessarily blaming Bielsa.....but summat is not right at LS11 OES....)

Our pal Oscar totally unhappy with the performance

"Bullied us, too strong for us all over the park & we couldn't handle it"

Well Oscar I've been saying all season we don't like playing against big strong teams

When I watched the Sky comparisons/analysis of the two teams I knew we were in big trouble....and said I did fear for us....

Final ball been a problem all season even when results were going our way. You can't keep just firing aimless crosses in hoping for the best, everyone has become guilty of it even Hernandez. Keep saying quality players have their head up, not up their arse. Blame Bamford but he's actually been put in the situation where he is forced to play because there nothing else. Should have been pulled long ago and kiko for their own good. What do you think tomorrow, rabbit out the hat time and a win?
