From what I read earlier with regard to today's game, he was by far the best player on show. Different class, was quoted.

Sky said we told them Roberts had a hamstring injury.

Thought he was having a poor game and was poor vs Luton but he had done well before that.

For such a young lad he seems to be made of glass (32 games missed through injury since arriving).

Costa had a good game regardless.

I wonder though with the situation with Eddie, the will he wont he thing, and the fact Roberts just cant stay injury free, will that influence our January plans?

If that's what it takes to psyche yourself and your teammates up then by all means, and I don't think what he said was incorrect by any stretch. Balls to the other teams, the best way to play is without fear of them. Give us more 2nd half v. Millwall and we're sorted.

Secondly Roberts has to prove he can actually play a few full matches without getting injured before we can really judge. Great though that we have a players of his quality available for the run in be it as a sub or starter.

Naturally Roberts has to stay fit ...as do Meslier/Ayling/Dallas/Klich/White/Cooper/Hernandez/Harrison/Dallas/Phillips and Costa...if they get injured they don't play either..

Indeed but Roberts has more of a history of not being able to stay injury free than those you mention. Ideal scenario is everyone being fit and available and those starting playing well and the subs being able to come on in good match situations and help us take games away from the opposition, like today. How demoralising to be an opposition player, 2-0 down, absolutely knackered and seeing players coming on for Leeds who have bags of pace, ability and energy.

Very fair points, with which I do not disagree. But I do ask myself this; if Bamford had come on with 25 minutes left, would he have taken those two chances? I honestly don’t think he would have. So I then ponder, do you keep Bamford in the team for what else he brings, or do you play a more natural goalscorer? That’s a tough choice, but what is often forgotten is that it isn’t a straight choice between those two assets. Somebody like Roberts brings movement and speed along with (potentially) goals. Something very different to what Bamford brings. So personally, while still being a fan of Paddy, I would prefer somebody like Roberts (or Kev when fit) up top. I think the benefits are likely to far outweigh the downsides. Roberts has earned a start against Hudds next week imo (assuming he’s fit).
