Re: Today's Games
Yeah 5 in a row and beginning to get amongst the goals too. I think the break hindered us more than helped us as it would have been easier to maintain fitness levels if we'd have simply continued rather than having 3 months of not really knowing when it would restart so not being able to let the players have any proper rest as we needed to keep them to a high level of fitness. In many ways they had to keep their fitness levels up for 3 months longer than normal so if anything it proved that Bielsa's intensive fitness program works incredibly well as there was no drop off.

Re: Today's Games
We were but a 3 month break will refresh anyone especially Leeds players. So many were saying Leeds looked absolutely knackered after the Barnsley game and that came after a 3 day break since Swansea. It's all hypothetical but it would have been interesting to see how things would've panned out without lockdown. I've not heard anyone suggest we've benefitted more through lockdown but I believe the break helped.Finnatic wrote: Don’t agree. We were flying before lockdown.

Not surprised Brentford lost, had a feeling they'd lose at Stoke, but didn't want to jinx it. I said before they've had it easy playing first every game, as soon as they face a bit of pressure they bottle it.

It's wonderful watching SKY Sports soccer Saturday without having to worry about Leeds United, looking at the table chopping and changing....apart from top spot of course!

West Brom have got QPR, can't see them wanting either Brentford or Fulham going up.

Oh dear Hull
That's what happens when you sell your only two decent players.

Re: Today's Games
Wonder if West Brom will have a trophy celebration after finishing 2nd (they'll definitely beat QPR), as Cardiff had one last year for finishing 2nd?
I would hope the club is big enough to not gain any satisfaction from lifting a runners-up trophy, as that kind of thing is ridiculous

Re: Today's Games
Always seemed strange to me that the team that finishes 2nd gets nothing yet the play-off winners, who finished below them, get a trophy. As a player I would celebrate the achievement of getting promoted in 2nd but wouldn't want a trophy or medals.92champs wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 4:44 pm Wonder if West Brom will have a trophy celebration after finishing 2nd (they'll definitely beat QPR), as Cardiff had one last year for finishing 2nd?

Barnsley score in injury time to take it to the last day! Actually really happy for them, hope they stay up as they've been unlucky.
