Keep as back up will never be good enough for the Premier League.....

Oh alright then, he can be a 1st team player if he wants to be
8.5/10, would be higher but he can be too reckless at times and the ban costs us....

Definitely keep as a first teamer next season. I’ve been impressed again this year, but not quite as impressed as others it would seem.

8/10 for me

Philips should be a bench warmer.

To many sidewards and backwards passes, doesn't attack like White, Forshaw or Struijk.

5/6-10

Not my type of player for a CM.

An outstanding player and a definite starter

Absolutely vital that we keep hold of KP as far as I’m concerned.

9/10 - this would be a 10/10 but his form since the restart (leading up to his injury) wasn’t quite to his usual standard.

Without doubt a definite starter.

I think he’ll cope with the step up in class and level of opponent. However, needs to keep a lid on that red mist streak that can descend too easily.

If he deserves an England call up (and he does) then he certainly deserves a starting spot on our side. An outstanding young player who is only going to get better. Does so many things exceptionally well.

9/10

Definitely keep as a starter.

How's things Mr White, I trust you've been doing alright.........

You're not that shocked, are you......... ;-)

He's a Leeds lad, I can understand people's passion and emotional support, but if you watch his game, he makes more shortish backwards and sideways passes than he does forward.......Ben White is a much better CM imo.

Of the 9 games KP's missed this season, we won 7 and lost 2 without him.

I'm fine thanks

So why are you posting on MOT away from your usual forum ?

Critical in the spine of the team. KP is the only real bite we have in our team (well defo Bera and poss Coops) he's aggressive and we need that in the middle. Ok he does overstep the mark at times but that's his game. Helps brake up play and protects our back four really well, best in the Championship for me.

Touted for a England call at some point. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Phillips gets on in the prem. He will be vital in the games against the top teams when we won't have has much possession, and he will also be key when our attacks break down around the opponents box. I think Prem teams will look to counter attack us more.

Defo Starter.
One of our key players. 9/10

Some fans knock him for his aggression

Tell me a defensive midfielder who isn't aggressive & doesn't incur yellow/red cards?

I was mocked over twenty months ago on here when I posted Kalvin will play for England :P

I’ll confess that when Kalvin started playing in the 1st team, although still young of course, I couldn’t see him as any more than another journeyman footballer, he seemed competent but no more then that.

Enter Marcelo Bielsa and 2 years later he’s become one of the hottest properties in England. Every aspect of his game has improved immeasurably and now I can see very few weaknesses at all. He is strong and solid on the ball, reads the game brilliantly which helps him to win the ball from the opposition often with deceptive ease and then can ping 40 and 50 yard passes to the wings (or anywhere for that matter) with absolute pin point accuracy. Super player!

Definite starter and 9/10 (couldn’t give him 10/10 as that would suggest he couldn’t get any better and I think he might!)
