Re: The "Summer" Transfer Window 20/21 season
This window is a bit of a balancing act. On the one hand it's wise not to overspend early and wait for the market to come down, but on the other we don't want to be caught without a chair when the music stops.
It's all a little unnerving really.

Reports in Brazil say we are meeting Cabral's agents
Stuttgart sporting director said we were serious about Gonzalez but "at no point was it convincing for him or for us". They cant see him being sold now.
In a piece about Ryan Kent by The Athletic it was said we are after a striker, a 10 and a winger but wouldn't be against signing 2 rather than 3 players if 1 can play many roles.

Certainly sounds about right, using a player in multiple roles is Bielsa’s MO.
It’s encouraging that the club are aware that we need to sign players in these areas. I was beginning to worry about the lack of recent links to no. 10s.

Re: The "Summer" Transfer Window 20/21 season
Being linked in Argentina to Argentinian u20 international winger Pedro De La Vega.
Atalanta also linked.
Dont know what he would cost and i know it's probably nonsense but i find the idea of signing highly rated Argentinian teens like him and Almada infinitely more exciting than players like Wilson and Kent.
Not even like they will be cheap and its no less risky.
Kent was good in the Championship, done well in Scotland (but by all accounts hasnt exactly been phenomenonal), nothing in EPL terms
Wilson did well in the Championship and decent in the Prem but not so decent Bournemouth fans cared that his loan ended.
Just wish we would be different. If it goes wrong fine but be nice to think outside the box rather than overspending on equally large risks like those 2 and Watkins (i really dont want Ollie Watkins).

Re: The "Summer" Transfer Window 20/21 season
Phil saying that Rodrigo is instead of Watkins (if fit thank god).
So Rodrigo is the striker signing that clears that up, the club are adamant that Cabral isnt happening.
Cb is a priority, Robin Koch is the main target
That leaves a winger/10, a left back and a goalie for me.
A 2nd cb also imo as while Coops deserves a chance i dont think he can cope in the Prem and an injury to our new cb leaves us so short but MB doesnt agree.

I agree, ideally it would be good to get two cb's in. I can see Cooper struggling with the pace of the PL, and he doesn't read the game particularly well either.

The thing is MB doesn't want to sign players to sit on the bench, he only wants those that will go in the starting XI. He was always going to be loyal to Coops this season. I don't think he will be that out of his depth, Blunts CBs did OK and they were in League One two years ago.

I think another two CBs are essential, regardless of how one feels about Cooper's ability to handle the Prem. Otherwise we're just a pulled hammy away from starting Leif Davis against Liverpool. No matter how much you like Leif, that doesn't seem prudent.

Ayling and Phillips would start in a crisis before Davis at CB, we have experienced cover for both wing backs whereas it's kids at CB

Sure, faaip, of course. My post was hyperbole. Putting Ayling inside or pulling Kalvin back hurts us elsewhere. The main point is still valid. As far as legit starting CBs go, we are paper thin.

Being linked with Luiz Felipe and Jordan Lukaku from Lazio.
I think I'd prefer Felipe to Koch now, but I'd be happy with either.

It is made up talk almost certainly
But a highly rated young winger/10 for £3-7mil, someone who probably wouldn't be upset to be a backup for a while.
Much rather that than £15mil on Ryan Kent.

Yep sadly. Would be a much better signing though and for far less.
Not sure if he'd get a work permit, but Watford got one for Joao Pedro with no international honours and De la Vega has played for Argentina u20.

Raiola saying Zlatan still hasn't agreed a new contract. Imagine if we got him in too.
