Re: Rodrigo de Paul - RUMOUR
Reading a report that "Leeds are still favorites" but "De Paul would prefer to stay in Italy"

Re: Rodrigo de Paul - RUMOUR
David is in charge of the English side of Gianluca Di Marzio's website.
I really hope we get De Paul, not confident though. He has spent all his time in Italy basically carrying a poor side.
He may not fancy a newly promoted side, i can fully understand that but hope he does

Also don't understand why players don't like a challenge till it's too late. Is it because they get judged on the trophies they've won..

Given that Moreno is 29 I would guess it would be him as he would likely have been born in 91.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 12:48 am Rodrigom_91? Now I wonder if that's Moreno or de Paul?![]()

Re: Rodrigo de Paul - RUMOUR
I really hope the stories are true. Would love to have a player of that calbre. Just hate being held to ransom by clubs and agents. I'll take Pablo, Rodrigo, or Roberts in the 10 rather than pay stupid money, But I'm all about a guy like RDP if we can do it on the right terms

Re: Rodrigo de Paul - RUMOUR
From reading about him last season he was basically Jack Grealish at Villa, a one man team.
What would he cost?
How much would Newcastle want for Saint- Maximin?
Palace for Zaha?
€40mil is less than all 3.
You cant get a bargain all the time, Valencia were a distressed seller, Koch had 1 year left on his deal.
Udinese arent like that and De Paul isnt nearly out of contact.
Sometimes you just have to cough up what people want.
7 goals and 6 assists for us could keep us up, De Paul is worth the risk given his record for an average Italian side.

Re: Rodrigo de Paul - RUMOUR
For me it's the biggest hole in the team right now. Would love to have a player of his calibre. I just wonder about the money. I really think the long term effects of covid will drive down transfer prices. He's a champions league player. If we don't make it there within 2 years we might be selling him for half the price. Again, I'd love to have him but I'm not sure we're a 40 million player club yet. We should probably be looking for 2 or 3 players for that money.Cjay wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 8:34 pmWhile it is expensive to us in footballing terms what would you pay for a current International midfielder who got 7 goals and 6 assists for a lower mid table Prem side?

IMO there is more to this than meets the eye... TBH think we would have had by now, if there was not a concern about something other than the price.

Rodrigo De Paul just started a new game of Football Manager. He just signed himself for Leeds. Truth. He's coming

Feel much the same. He looks class, could unpick tight defences, very capable of scoring himself and, as said above, addresses a gap in the team atm.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 9:16 pm For me it's the biggest hole in the team right now. Any player available in England will cost a fortune. Benrahma, who I feel would be class, is still unproven at a top level but would still cost £28M+. After that your not adding much more for the remaining £10/12M.
Hope we go for it and he joins. Probably be the end of our transfer dealings for this window. That’s ok too.

Re: Rodrigo de Paul - RUMOUR
Graham retweeted a tweet from a Spanish journalist.
Zenit will pay €35mil but De Paul doesn't want that move.
We will pay €25mil but Udinese want more. Tbf if £28mil rising to £33mil is what Ollie Watkins costs we arent getting De Paul for £23mil.
Sell Douglas, sell Roberts, there is the extra funds, problem solved.
Edit- De Paul's twitter account has now been deleted
Either he is a massive troll or he is in trouble and been told off
