A record we could barely imagine would one day be matched.

Luckily I switched the TV on Lap 28......didnt realise it was on that early, thought it would be the usual 2.00pm. What a race, a proper race and Lewis was so emotional atntye chequered flag he couldn't speak. What an achievement, I never thought anyone would get near Schumacher's 7 titles let alone match them. Well done Lewis

Anyone been watching the Bahrain GP.......how on earth did Grosjean get out of that at all, let alone in one piece. In years gone by there’s no way he would have survived that.

Re: Sports Newsflash
The 2021 Formula 1 season started with a race to showcase the sport at its very best.
The Bahrain Grand Prix distilled down to a straight fight between Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes and Max Verstappen's Red Bull, of the sort followers of the sport have been anticipating for years.
It was full of richness and intrigue - a tense and gripping strategic fight between F1's two top drivers and two greatest teams from which, to emerge triumphant, Hamilton was required to draw upon all his skill and experience.

I watched the race 64. Amazing stuff. One minute Lewis in the lead, next Verstappen, and then for Max to run off the track and have to let Lewis pass him to win, the race had everything. I think Lewis will have great competition this year which is what he thrives on. I also rate Verstappen very highly, ever since he first appeared in F1. I used to watch F1 years ago.
Not now.
It's now totally boring,.
Lewis Hamilton wins virtually every race because he's the number one driver at Mercedes who's cars are the fastest on the circuit.
It's the same old procession in qualifying and the same when the race starts.
It's not for me now...

Red Bull's Max Verstappen dominated a wet-dry Emilia Romagna Grand Prix to revive his title hopes as rival Charles Leclerc threw away third place with a costly error.
The Ferrari driver was pushing to try to pass Verstappen's team-mate Sergio Perez after a late pit stop when he lost control at the Variante Alta chicane at Imola.
Leclerc had to pit for a new front wing and fresh tyres and dropped to ninth, and could recover only to sixth.
The error enabled Verstappen to slash his deficit to Leclerc from 45 points to 27, moving the Dutchman up from fifth in the championship to second.
Lewis Hamilton had a dire afternoon, stuck behind slower cars throughout and unable to pass and finished in 13th place. He was also lapped by Verstappen.

Two young Brits impressing in George Russell and Lando Norris despite both having terrible cars in pre-season testing.
Feel like the title is Verstappen's again if Red Bull have sorted out their reliability issues. Leclercjust not going to take it to him like Hamilton did.

Hamilton should be on eight. Disgusting and disgraceful end to last seasons finish.

Even worse is that the FIA inquiry blamed ' human error ' ie Masi making up his own rulebook when put under pressure by Red Bull to do so. They also sacked Masi, so they have really admitted that Masi gave the race and the title to Verstappen. No changing of the race and championship result though, just as Maradona's ' hand of god ' goal was never reversed.

Mercedes need to put side pods on their car - the floor is flexing, which the bracing provided by sidepods would probably cure.YorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 9:39 pm Two young Brits impressing in George Russell and Lando Norris despite both having terrible cars in pre-season testing.

At speed on the straights the nose dips, which causes the flow of air under the car to be disrupted, which in turn breaks the suction. When the suction is broken the nose goes up, which then causes the air to flow properly under the car again so that the suction starts again - and so on. A flexing floor will make this worse.

This after a couple of defeats to Ireland..........is the All Blacks crown of invincibility slipping ???
Their coach must be under enormous pressure, given the status of that team and what it is in representing NZ and their culture.
Hopefully it’ll make the next WC more competitive with teams like the Argies etc.
