You have to admire the audacity of Bielsa in believing his side can outplay every team in the Premier League. He turns every game into a joyride although you are left wondering if he would be advised using the brakes occasionally
It's like some of these journalists actually believe we would be better if we adopted a more defensive shape etc. Like they know better than Bielsa about tactics. If this side set up to play a normal way we'd be getting d*cked every week.

At least the journalists/pundits are saying lots of nice things, no doubt the Dirty Leeds tag will raise it's ugly head at the weekend

I never dream't I would be reading complementary articles about Leeds, really gives me a glowing warmth feeling & makes me smile with joy :)

I think our dip in form has been magnified because of the ridiculous levels of hype around Leeds in the media.

Any other mid table side goes through a patch of form like this and it doesn’t get mentioned.

I am not worried... yet.

That knob=head Agbonlahor has been at it again:

The ex-Villa man said: “Does everyone think it’s still amazing and funny that Bielsa named his team three days ago live to the nation?”

And also "MOOD!! LOL bielsa is a myth!!"

Don't you just love him

Well we are Super Leeds, so we always get the attention. Add the 16 year wait, the attractive football and Bielsa then we're probably the most interesting story in the PL. As you know the British generally love to build people up and then watch them fall.

Merse makes some valid points.

Stan Collymore of the Mirror...
It also made me realise how much we in the media create myths.
Bielsa status is nothing to do with the media, they created nothing certainly not his status...Bielsa's recognition comes from his peer's who understand and recognise how much influence Bielsa has had in changing football as we know it... He has never managed a team that has an open cheque book, but he transforms teams...What Collymore is doing is trying to create a myth hoping for traction to promote himself.

Stan Collymore... 2 good years with Forest, Liverpool picked him up 28 goals in 64 appearances, but easily forced out when Micheal Owen came along
That is pretty well his career...oh apart from many controversal public outbursts on and off the pitch with officials, coaches and team mates (Spice boys era) culminating in seeking help for mental health problems after moving to playing for the Villians (lots of potential jokes there but will refrain) but after Owens forced him out at liddypool was pretty much downhill for him.

Now he makes a living writing drivel such as the piece posted... And that is my opinion... I respect other peoples opinion that may differ.

I said from day one we got promoted.....all the Bielsa hype (sky, Amazon) would not do us any favours. Jealousy from many has reared its ugly head....unfortunately, we are a target from all those who feel bitter against us. No team talk required......

CHAPELALLMAN wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 11:01 am And that's the thing about you Smudge - Collymore writes an opinion which he is perfectly entitled to do. It doesn't mean to say I agree with his view by sharing it.
So why are you upset?...Yet again , I did not attack you... but here you are insulting me. Why is that?

Then you launch into a personal attack on Collymore and dismiss his piece as ' drivel ' just because you don't agree with it and you don't like it.
And that is my opinion on what he wrote... I respect other peoples opinion that may differ.

You have done the same kind of thing with people who have posted comments on here.
Please share those post's with me, on here if you wish. As I informed you by private message when I tried to reason with you, I do not recall what you are accusing me off, but please post and if I did I will wholeheartedly apologise to those concerned... You did not even have the courtesy to respond to my private message when You accused me of this prior... yet here you are again in regards to my opinion.

IMO you need to be higher in detached reasoning and lower in uncontrolled emotion and anger. How does that saying go ' I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. '
Again you post what I have posted earlier. As for detached reasoning....mmmm I critisise Stan Collymore not you... yet you come on here again hurling insults at me. Interesting.

By dismissing someone else's opinion as ' drivel ' and by launching into a character attack on the person who has expressed an opinion you are simply giving an impression of bigotry and intolerance.
No that is exactly what you are doing...I read Collymore's article several times, and I saw it as an attack on Bilesa's credibility and him trying to say that the media gave him that credibility... I disagreed.

Your views would carry more credibilty if you simply calmly rationalised why you disagree with Collymore's comments
I did I poined out that his status was nothing to do with the press "creating a myth" his status was validated and acknowledged by his peers worldwide.

in terms of the tactics which Bielsa deploys etc - for example why you think man for man marking works, why it is a good tactic to leave 3 men at the back when we attack etc.
As you troll me, you should recall in the past I have on a number of occasions stated I disagree with the man to man system... Unllike you I do have rational though.
I contacted you by private message, as I stated above , you read it as it was accepted... you obvioulsy want to continue making this personal...it is easy to be so bold hiding behind a computer screen, classic 1st world practice now on social media... I refuse to lower myself to your level.

You can dismiss someone's opinion if the majority of what they say is wrong. As Smudge pointed out Bielsa's reputation over the years doesn't come from the media but from fellow managers and players.

CHAPELALLMAN wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 12:09 pm Dismissing someone's opinion is fine Weasel. Making personal attacks rubbishing their career, making references to them having mental health problems ( as though this has some kind of bearing on what they wrote ) and dismissing what they wrote as ' drivel ' is not. I don't agree with what Collymore wrote either, but I respect the fact that he has put forward a viewpoint in a reasoned manner which shows that he has thought it through. His criticisms of Bielsa are not personal ones either - he doesn't refer to the ' El Loco' nickname for example which he was given in Argentina.
What I find strange is that I have never attacked you in anyway... disagreed yes, ... maybe the odd joke that went over your head , due to a lack of a sense of humour on your part, yet you feel it necassary to attack me on behalf of others :duno: ...Do you wear a mask as well ...and change in a phone box...wear your underwear outside your pants?... there is easier ways to play the super hero than in attacking me Chapel 'ol boy, believe me there is :shhh:
