I'd love it if they go down after how gobby their fans were all summer.

Great result and should help us to push on to safety.
Could well be a season defining result.
First half we played well, but again missed a bagful.
Second half we couldn't get going and made a poor Burnley side look dominant.
The fact that Burnley are so poor at creating and scoring chances was the biggest factor in that second half.
But we dug in well and ground out a nervy win.
Result is way more important than the performance and same again will do nicely on Tuesday.
We've consistently take points from the bottom teams, which is what we need to continue to do.

With how low the tide is, I think that's not unfeasible!

Season's going swimmingly so far.

I think Ben will realise that his form was dependent on being coached by Marcelo, and that he’d have more comfortably stepped up to the PL with Leeds than Brighton. I’m sure he’d love the chance to join us permanently for the sake of his long-term career.

Don't do that...It's like your saying Championship players can't play in the prem ..Most of ours have stepped up if not all, and White was our best player last season

The threat from Burnley was always going to from corners, and given how poor we've been this season, it was a great defensive performance.

He knows that already, and he wanted to join but Brighton got very very greedy and made a stupid mistake

Hmm maybe. But if we survive, we should looking to target top ten and pushing on, not relying on Championship players again. Look at the blunts for example, they didn't improve and are paying the price.

I say get him in Jan...White has so much potential he'd be worth adding. Especially with Koch not coming back this season probably

Still think we made the right choice with Ben White.

He doesnt look anything special at Prem level so far, he wasnt particularly strong in the air so wouldn't have really helped with that and his price was vastly inflated to a ridiculous level.

However, hopefully Brighton go down to teach them not to be so greedy.

True, I thought KP held us together at the back.
To be fair they had a fair goal chalked off.
Few shaky moments from Meslier trying to come for balls in.
We are absolutely shocking at stopping crosses coming in from either flank.

Ron Swanson wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 2:24 pm Yes, I think you can play two of the three in the roles they’ve played, but not all of them.

I don’t think there is a midfielder on the planet that has the legs to play the way that Klich is being required to play right now.

He’s an 8, but when all four wide players are bombing forward and the 10 is basically a striker...

With the players we had available today... I’d probably give that role to Dallas, and played Klich in his natural role... with Phillips alongside Ayling in a defensive pairing.

Shacks at RB and Struijk on the bench. The Villa game took something from him. He isn’t the same.
Agree i think Klich is just being asked to do far to much ( as he was at times in the Championship but its much harder in the Prem).

Id pick 2 as you say.

Not sure Dallas at dm works? Dallas is an energetic pro but not really technical or defensively good with good defensive instincts? He give away about 50 freekicks?

But we dont really have many options tbf so may be right mate.

Yeah, I'm pleased we walked away. Telling that none of the top sides have come in for him. We'll be fine once we get Koch, Llorente and Cooper fit and maybe even add another CB in summer. After relegation he can continue his illustrious career at West Ham, Palace, etc, good luck Ben

I'd rather sign Gross from Brighton if anyone.

Meslier's weaknesses in dealing with balls put into the box, are not unique to him. Many goalkeepers today have the same issues - especially the more inexperienced ones.

The issue has arisen because keepers have been overly protected for too many years. I'm not advocating that all protection is wrong, but I think there is too much. So we have keepers who are great shot stoppers for the most part.

Probably the light weight balls which move so much in the air is another factor making it hard to effectively punch crosses clear.
Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.

Not sure we will ever get our moneys worth from Llorente? Got a bad feeling about him.

We do need another cb imo i dont think Coops can remain 1st choice past this season.

Feel sorry for White but we have moved on.

Ideally we need a cb who can play dm?

Maybe Klich as the DM and Dallas as the 8?

Dunno.

Disagree totally, today we showed some fight, Sam will have more to worry about than us after they have taken a hiding at Anfield later
