Koch and Klich won't play again this season

Post by YorkshireSquare »

Graham Smyth reporting Robin Koch and Mateusz Klich have been granted early leave to ensure they can manage their injuries ahead of the Euros this summer. Neither will feature in either of Leeds United's last two games of the season.

Robin Koch and Mateusz Klich granted early leave by Marcelo Bielsa, with the Euros in mind.

Wonder if the club would be so accommodating if we were 17th at this point 🤔

Maybe, maybe not. Either way it's not an issue

Not a problem with that, we are in a position to be able to so.

Two dead rubber games left so not an issue.
Those available can cope comfortably.
Shame for Klich though as he was getting back to his best.

I wonder if Phillips will get the same treatment? Although i have just remembered he's not selected yet.

Glad to see Klich regaining his form lately, I think a rest at this point will be good for him and he can end his season on a high.

Barring injury I didn't see Koch playing anyway and now we have Cooper back we've got the luxury of letting him take a breather before these ill-advised internationals.

Let's pray none of the lads bring anything back with them...

Pity, I was wanting to see where Koch fitted into the equation.

But it is a wise move.

I think Koch will slip in effortlessly....

I promise that's my last Koch gag.

Not sure they should be classed as dead rubbers given the difference between 8th & 10th with regards to prize money is around £4mill. Would go a long way to getting a few key players on longer contracts.

The midfield 3 of Phillips, Dallas & Klich I wanted to see again. In fact the line up at Burnley was our strongest IMHO. I know it doesn't contain a real creative No10 but they worked Burnley to a stand still allowing us to profit more as the game evolved.

Neither are "essential" at the minute and so don't see a problem with it at all - v nice gesture from bielsa.

Klich has been great the last few games though

Given the rumours about Klich maybe feeling that his body has had enough of Bielsa ball and getting a bit worn down by MB's demanding ways perhaps this is MB showing his human side and gratitude to one of his old warhorses?

He's looked much improved the last two games. Over his hip injury and Covid.

But a break now should serve him well and it's about him coming back from the Euros in the best possible shape.

Rodders will come in for Klich probably.

He looked sharp against Burnley, a couple of starts would help him as well.

I'd like to see Shackleton get some game time as well.

Bielsa has looked at Shack a few times but never seems keen
