Re: marriage
Except for the English language H - firstly, you never start a sentence or a paragraph with a conjunction, of which 'and' and 'but' are examples.

Re: marriage
I got it mate ...
and obviously you know that despite what you may have been told at school, in days of yore, you can start a sentence with a coordinating conjunction (e.g., "and," "but," "or").
The use of AND at the start of a sentence is just an impactful way of saying "in addition"
It is worth noting, however, that starting a sentence with a coordinating conjunction still irritates the nonconformist grammar police

The old rules we were taught about not starting a sentence with a conjunction are not correct. And here are some sources to back me up.
