Re: Ryan Kent
Plays left from what ive seen, or at least that is his position officially but seems to pop up anywhere he fancies.
Kind of like Pablo in MB's first season, officially a winger but can pop up wherever.
After Roofe left Phil Hay was adamant that MB felt Kent could play central which i presume means as that 8/10 hybrid role we use? Unless he saw him as a striker which seems unlikely?

Hearts fan / Newcastle being my English team, though I love watching you're team Leeds games, they are the closest thing I have seen since the great entertainers we had from 1992-1998, Kent is a player that i think Marcelo, would be able to take his overall game to the next level, I know a lot of English fans look down on Scottish football etc, but the standard is improving i believe, he would certainly give you something different, very direct two footed, and has won the league with The Rangers, what's you're thought's on poveda?.Cjay wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 3:19 pm Despite concerns about the standard he plays at I would do a deal for Kent and have him in the squad by Everton.
I think it's blatantly obvious we need more quality and creativity and he may provide it, would be nice to hear the thoughts of people who watch Scottish football more though.
But definitely would be a good signing for yous,

Erm i always liked Poveda, he worked hard, had a trick or two and was very direct.
Unfortunately his end product lacks and his size meant he was easily brushed off the ball on occasion however he seems to have bulked up this summer.
That being said he is 21 now 22 in February you do wonder if he will make it here? Especially with Summerville seemingly now ahead of him in the pecking order.
He has talent but i do have doubts about his mentality, bit of a good time boy evidently, maybe not the most professional.

Re: Ryan Kent
He'd have to learn the 10 role for us, I have no problem buying him for 10-15M but I doubt he'd fit in as the 10 for at least half a season

What a shock mate, never mind we can always buy another 16 year old. Looks like we're brassed, so we need to adjust our expectations accordingly.
I'm bitterly disappointed with the lack of transfers.
Watching us get humped at OT two seasons in a row just rubs salt in the wounds.

Interesting when discussing Kent to see how low the Scottish Premier League is seen. Our player, Robbie Gotts, has been linked to a move to 2 League 2 sides and a Scottish premiership side (Motherwell). Take Rangers and Celtic away and the standard is very low.

Re: Ryan Kent
Rangers and Celtic would maybe be mid Championship albeit with a fanbase that would push them higher were they to play in England. The rest are around Lg 1 or 2. It is the poorest league in Europeweasel wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 6:59 pm Interesting when discussing Kent to see how low the Scottish Premier League is seen. Aside from the ugly sisters, the money isn't there and teams can't compete with the wages from the lower EFL divisions.weasel wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 6:59 pm Interesting when discussing Kent to see how low the Scottish Premier League is seen. The best of the rest are going down the route of the loan market for Premier League players that have struggled to break into their respective first teams. Thinking of the likes of Ben Woodburn at Hearts and Matty Longstaff at Aberdeen. It didn't do James Maddison any harm.
