If we were offered to finish 12th this season, would you take it?
Nope. I still believe we will go toe to toe with those around us competing for the 7th-12th spots. The ones around us being Everton, Villa, Arsenal, West Ham and Spurs. Sure we may see Brighton finish better this season and perhaps even Wolves, so at worst 14th.
Knowing we won’t be in a relegation battle why should we settle for 12th now when 7th is possible.

Yes I agree but I think we're starting to see what qualities Alioski brought to the team.
I can't ever see Firpo making those lung bursting overlapping runs.
Way too early to tell how good Firpo will be though.
Firpo needs time to settle in, he's only played 100 minutes of PL football.

Hate to keep picking on him but Rodrigo not coming on over Roberts is a really bad sign for him.
Is Mb's faith in the record singing on the wane?
Very worrying. It would make sense if Roberts came on and terrorized the defence, but he seems to terrify himself when he is called into action. May as well be Gelhardt if we want to build for the future. Roberts isn't the solution. Rodrigo and Raphinha look decent when combining at times too.
Putting aside worries on our transfers in and last weekend, there is something to marvel here.
Our second season in the EPL and we started with 9 of our championship squad and finished with 10. Coming back twice against a non too shabby, ever present Everton side.
It is a remarkable achievement from that squad and Our Saviour.
I agree we have to bring in more true quality like Rapha, who was the difference that made the difference, but you do have to admire the step up that original squad has made.
2 out of 2 missed due to work. I haven't even had chance to put my dodgy stick to the test yet. Watched the highlights. Benitez saying Bielsa has had 3 years with the squad and he as only had 6 weeks but forgetting to mention how much Everton have invested over the last 4/5 years.
What's Firpo's average pace like? There was one moment on the highlights that a Evtn player just waltzed by him with ease. Raph once again showing the others what it takes. We have come a long way in a short space of time. To progress to that next stage will be tough. The lads have done really well.
