I must have watched a different Adam Forshaw to the club. :duno: The one I saw was slow, passed backwards all the time and was constantly injured.

He was slow in possession, turning in circles taking an age to pass anywhere and he was an 8 who never scored or created a goal.

The only thing that he had going for him was the balance of the team seemed OK.

But as an individual he had no standout skills imo and 60minutes against Crewe as justification is a joke.

Nice guy, wish him well, but nobody is buying Orta's Forshaw is the saviour line (and the rest of the article is just square pegs).

They have taken a massive risk here overspending on a luxury signing and neglecting a necessary priority.

I dont get this tbh, i dont get how the club can clearly be feeding Phil Hay the central midfield is the priority line all summer, only try a loan with no option to buy for Gallagher and then a £4mil bid for O'brien ( £4mil gets you nothing these days) for our priority position.

Then forget that and spend £25-£30mil on a winger.

If we had £25mil to spend then surely on the app that Orta uses the tool for transfers there must have been dozens of cms at that price we could have signed.

It baffles me, it seems totally illogical to me.
I think that the club probably always felt there was a deal to be done for Dan James or 1 or 2 others maybe and wanted to keep the money in reserve in case there was the chance to do a deal. A bit like last year and I think we had £20m left if a top target became available. With the window closing we went for Cuisance but then Raphinha became available and he was probably higher up on the list hence the club decided to ditch the Cuisance deal (with the injury that seemingly never was). I think Dan James was possibly top of Bielsa's list.

I think that is probably it and that is probably why they kept the money back i suppose.

I can imagine that when MB gets obsessed about a player he is practically impossible to get to change direction.

Would he be my 1st choice? No, probably not even top 5 of realistic targets this summer but he is here now so.

And without wanting to tarnish MB i can imagine he is a very difficult man to work with (DJ Dan on ****** pretty much confirmed this and inferred that when he leaves some truths may come out that change his legacy a bit such as the story about him wearing a Juve tracksuit being true because he was upset with the club).

So maybe this was a case of the club needing to keep the money back just in case someone like James became available?

The midfield though is still a massive concern and if it goes wrong (an injury to KP or Forshaw for example and our entire midfield collapsing or simply it doesnt work at all) then the club will get criticism and rightly so.

So this topic ran 21 pages & our main signings Junior & Dan were not mentioned.

Loads of tenuous links I suggest.

Pep must have been having lunch with his friend Pep as nothing came of that story too!

Iam predicting that IF bielse plays harrison James and raph then either James or Harrison will play on the right and I'm guessing that bielsa will try and use raphinha as a number 10 creative role player. That's the only way you can play 3 wingers

how much premium league clubs spent in transfer window... looks like Arsenal are trying to buy success.

is this how the big six remain the big six and will this reflect the final league position at the end of the season

Gooners should have invested in a new coach.

All of Arsenal's signings were aged 23 and under so will be a while before they reap any rewards for their outlay. Plus don't forget a third of their spend went on Ben White!
Liverpool fans must be disappointed at only the one signing, that being a centre back as well.

Puts things into perspective regarding our transfer business which tbh doesn't look that bad by comparison.

Liverpool have several players returning from injury which kept them out for much of last season.

I watched their last two friendlies prior the the start of this season, believe me they have two quality XI's.

Young Harvey Elliott at 18yo looks a quality footballer, he is so good the young man is keeping more experienced stars on their bench. A England player in the making :eng: may make next years World Cup squad.
