Great dummy from Rodrigo for our goal.

Blatant foul on James for penalty not given.

Saint-Maximin ran us ragged as I predicted prior to the game.

Looks like the Saudi deal to buy Newcastle is going to go through now. Shows the desperation of fans these days that they are celebrating the prospect of been taken over by a state with amongst other things a highly questionable human rights record not to mention allegations of state sponsored murder.

Not exactly sure how I would feel if it was Leeds to be honest. Not sure if I could look past it. Funny though the hoops we had to jump through to get a mad man with a pending tax evasion case the green light to buy us yet this is ok.

I know it’s just banter but can’t see them getting neymar and mbappe etc, the days of Man City and Chelsea scenarios are over and Newcastle despite been a nice city is no Manchester or London , defo should get up towards top 8 though.

Its a difficult one.

I supported the Qatar takeover stuff (to get the 49ers after Radz teased QSi is so awful). Under no illusions about the issues Qatar have in certain respects (not sure its as bad as Saudi Arabia but its not great).

However as a football fan i selfishly wanted success for my team, never seen us win a major trophy and QSI would almost certainly have changed that. The political stuff and whatnot, us being owned by them was a separate issues imo, the two events dont impact the other. If QSi not owning us meant Qatar evolved for the better in certain respects then absolutely i wouldn't want them to own us of course.

However in all likelihood the two events would have no impact on each other either way so ultimately i only cared about LUFc, selfish? Maybe, but its how i thought.

Also our owner has no qualms about where his money comes from lets be honest, he has done business with Myanmar, China, various other places in the Middle East and Asia. If you traced Radz's money you would probably find he had done business with all sorts of dodgy and questionable people and places.

Nobody questions that though and in time our fanbase wouldnt have questioned the Qatar investment either, is that right? not for me to say.

As for Newcastle its much the same thing really imo.

That being said i am not sure tempting players to Newcastle will be easy, known fact players prefer the south and Newcastle is about as North as you can get, its 140miles north of Manchester, 110 miles North of Leeds, money is a great motivator but it wont be plain sailing i expect.

Everybody wants Sheikh Yermoni Maker to come and save them, didn't work out too well for Leeds the last time they looked to Saudia Arabia for salvation.

Sad to see what football has become, don't get me wrong I know it changed ages ago. I'd never want this at Leeds, yet so many fans will be desperate for it. I was 100℅ against QSI and hopefully they don't rear their ugly heads again.

Newcastle fans are desperate to get rid of Ashley, absolutely desperate, they think they've had it bad, they didn't have bates to contend with, then all the other numerous shisters we had and the court cases etc.
Who knows if it will work out for them ? Careful what you wish for and all that.
Yes, I want United to be able to compete with the top sides and be able to challenge for trophies, that unfortunately comes at a cost nowadays, it always did tbf, the top teams bought better players to enhance their existing squad, when Allan Clarke came to us, it was for a british record, same as many other teams , liverpool, man utd, spurs etc, today every team needs to spend big to survive, pure & simple.
Your paint factory owning director days are long gone I'm afraid, it's a cash / corporate & results business.
We will need serious investment to be able to challenge, MB thinks different, turning average Joe's into serious challengers for honours, it wont happen season in season out, it just wont, we've done well thus far, much more than we could predict, but an ageing squad will need replacements sooner or later, the young un's wont all cut it, it's then down to investment.
The top teams have won nothing in my eyes, simply bought it, man utd had a 20 year run , then chelsea, man city, only Leicester bucked a trend but cannot see that happening again anytime soon.
Players being sold for £100 million plus  You could football teams for that amount.

Unless you are satisfied with mediocrity then a QSI type investment is the only answer mate.

Sad as it is its a fact

We wont win anything with Radz and the venture capital Yanks.

Radz said he wants Europe in 2-3 years.

Well with City, Newcastle and Chelsea all absolutely minted.

Plus the usual suspects who arent going to fade away (Manure, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal) plus minted clubs like Villa and Everton.

The chances of us getting Europe are very very slim.

Then we need to prioritise the cups. If the top 6 play their reserves, we play our strongest side. Starting with Arsenal.

Watch the The Dissident on amazon if you want a good insight in to saudi arabia and the way they conduct themselves

I think eventually we will end up majority owned by the 49ers and or Peter lowy which would put us in monetary terms leagues ahead of where we are with Radz

What annoys me as much as anything is this guff the media come up with about how amazing Newcastle fans are and how they deserve this for what they have been through as if they have suffered more acutely than any other fanbase. They have had it comparatively easy compared to alot of clubs, they have won sod all in living memory yet their fans feel entitled to compete at the top of the table because they have a big stadium and they once finished second.

I remember going to newcastle when we both had s**t crowds, we would take 4500 up there, they used to get anywhere between 8000 & 14000 regularly, I was at ER when we had a poultry 8000 for shrewsbury, they are no better supported than us.
16 yrs out of the top flight would make a lot of supporters re-think their spending on football.
In the 80's we had the trouble as well as s**t crowds on the back of poor investment and a crumbling stadium to deal with.
Silly geordie twats.
