I agree with all of this.Boo Radley wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 4:47 pm Crucial win - steadies the ship for now, just about. We’ve managed to reattach ourselves to the mid table group and that was the main aim today.
However we can’t ignore that the first half was dire. We looked scared and so unsure. Basically there was no difference between us and them in that period. It looked a poor Championship game.
I thought Struijk was our best player over 90 minutes. Raphinha wasn’t firing at all in the first half - different cheese in the second, thankfully.
Philips does look like someone whose head has been turned, as others here have mentioned. He was so poor. Only his new England shirt saved him from an early bath. He committed three fouls that each could have been yellows. He needs to step up urgently or we will be dependent on Forshaw very quickly.
Harrison’s time is up now surely up. We can’t persist with him and Roberts, in particular, with nothing coming from them. James isn’t far behind, although his assist was quality.
If this is the break we needed to step up then it will have been worth suffering it. If we reproduce that performance in the coming weeks we’ll beat no one else.
Jack Harrison was abysmal and that is one of the worst games I have ever seen Kalvin have. His passing was mostly poor, he kept getting turned and gave away loads of needless fouls.
Struijk easily our best player today.
Rodrigo worked hard.
