Can someone confirm or correct: last year at 10 games we also had 10 points?

It may be clickbait but i bet he is in having a long hard think.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 7:32 pm Yes it’s clickbait, but might this be havng a detrimental effect on Kalvin? Catch22.

He is 26 in a few months, coming into his prime with new mates from the international scene on far more lucrative contracts and challenging for titles and even just top 6.
2 of his closest mates at international level are Grealish and Rice and he must look at them and think "why cant that be me".
Rice is getting to do it at his boyhood club.
KP after last season i am sure hoped to see us press on as a club (he is a fan first and foremost after all). Hoped to see us build on 9th and go forward.
As ive said before the consolidation line from the club was nonsense and Kinnear banging on about "2 years worth of transfers in 1 window" was utter stupidity.
No player wants to hear that, Raph, KP, Mes etc players with growing reputations and youth on their side must have felt a bit sick at those words.
And now chickens have come home to roost and we find ourselves in a relegation battle.
That must be so disappointing to KP as a fan and it must make him consider his future, it wouldn't be normal if he wasnt.
And i suspect that is playing a part, it may be dawning on him that a huge missed opportunity last summer has cost us and his club are now in danger of missing the boat.
He is now trying to think about his own career and whether his team can be part of it.

Having had time to calm down and de-stress a little, I was beginning to feel that actually our luck may have turned with this game. Here’s why;
1. We seldom win in Carrow Road, but we did today did.
2. The weather calmed from the strong wind and rain that was there up to a few hours before kick off. Really wouldn’t suit us
3. After our one of our poorest halves of League football under Bielsa, we weren’t losing at halftime.
4. We could have conceded a penalty when James hit the ball with his arm early in the game.
5. Philips could have been sent off by a stricter ref.
6. Pukki missed a very decent chance in the first half.
7. Raphinha’s goal went through three pairs of legs!
8. Rodrigo’s goal should have been saved really.
9. Harrison’s crazy misplaced pass should have led to a goal.
So, on these points alone I’m taking the line that our luck has changed and things are looking up!

Not sure highlighting our level of luck amounts to positivity.
For me the performance is the main thing. If you are playing well and creating chances the results will take care of themselves for the most part. We have been bloody awful this season. I know we have had injuries and that plays it’s part, but for the majority of games we have been using experienced players who know what is expected of them. There are too many players under par on a regular basis - it is a concern because as we witnessed today confidence on the ball is low.
Leicester is an ideal game in many respects to gauge whether we have turned a corner with this victory. When we beat them at home last season we played fantastic football. Somehow we need to remember what we are capable of.

Nerve wracking to watch Chilli, no zip in our play any more, passing & retaining the ball very poor in a game littered with errors.Chilli D wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 6:18 pm I've only just watched the second half as I had to go out so recorded it and didn't know the result.
I have died a thousand deaths sitting through that.
What has happened to our team?
I just pray Raphinha stays fit this season.
Very disappointing Gelhardt didn't get on.
The first-half was like watching championship football all over again, with Raphinha the exception, even though he made a few mistakes, he's a class act way above the rest.
Yes Chilli, lose Raphinha or Llorente, we'll be well & truly stuffed

I doubt we'd have lost all three points at St Mary's had Raphinha been available.mentalcase wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 6:28 pm The 3 points dropped at southampton would have had us in 13 th place today, would have looked much healthier.
Hopefully Rapha will stay this season, have a great world cup and his stock will soar massively.
Looks like Phillips has also had his head turned.

Great support for Stuart from our fans at the end of the game.whiteswan wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 6:37 pm Before we think players heads have been turned can we not learn our lesson from the Dallas pasting he got on here. Footballers are human beings. We have absolutely no idea what is going on with Philip's right now in his personal life (if anything). Also remember he's just back from a nasty injury
"There's only one Stuart Dallas"
Followed up his fine Wolves display with another decent performance.

Too many draws is the problem. If we'd beaten Newcastle or Wolves, which we should've done, things would look a lot rosier.BGwhite wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 6:39 pm The other way to look at our position...we've lost the fewest games of the bottom 6 teams and even the same as mid table wolves & Leicester. 3 of our defeats would've been expected, Southampton was THE big disappointment. We're not losing to the others around us and we're playing shite. Hopefully after the international break we'll have paddy back who improves us no end and Ayling won't be far off by then. Avoid defeat against Leicester and we might just turn the corner.

Watched the game today with a Norwich mate.
Both agreed both teams are awful, we're just slightly better than them. Going to be a long long season but I'm in for the ride!

Would have been nice to see Joe Gelhardt get a chance late on to attack Norwich and link up with Raph.
Was his use of Roberts as well as his past quotes (including recently) about preferring to use senior players and having them take responsibility his way of saying that we won't see much of Joe?

Anyone else wonder if Rostov could be talked into letting Mathias Norman go on a permanent in January?
I though he looked like just the sort of clever 10 we need, and judging from the hatchet job that Kalvin and Llorente were clearly told to do on him early on, Marcelo recognises his quality too.

This post is spot on. If you can't be confident against a side that has just been thrashed and looks almost nailed-on to go back down, who can you be? Leicester will be a tough game, but perhaps with Paddy back we might start to look like the team who were lauded last year for playing confident and attractive football.DDB220 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 9:27 pm Not sure highlighting our level of luck amounts to positivity.
