Watched it back ,bossed the first half with the usual result no end product, should have been out of sight. Only looked to be one winner in second half afraid to say.
No sentiment in football as a few have said, if we do go down running a small squad and not strengthening the right areas will be our downfall. Looked gassed second half imo.

A crazy situation with a bunch of kids on the whole bench including 15yo Archie Gray who has hardly played in the U23's, no other PL team runs their club with such a small squad lacking depth & quality.

We got worse with each substitution :(

Hey Finn, masks keep your cheeks warm on a cold day :-D

My god, it was raw yesterday, thankfully I was well wrapped up, thermals on too, unlike many who were freezing their b*ll*cks off

Point of order: Archie wasn't on the bench. He travelled with the team to get experience of a first team matchday. Any team in the PL would struggle with 6 first teamers out. Liverpool, Man City and Everton gave debuts to youngsters from the bench over the weekend. Firpo and Roberts are not kids, only McKinstry of our subs can be classed as such, and he came on at 89 mins. Changing our shape, and moving Kalvin further forward, rather than keeping him on Kane, led to our downfall. He was brilliant in the first half, but him losing possession led to both their goals.

Before the game, my son expressed his worry about Kane and Son. I said I was more worried about Moura running at our back line line all game from deep, and creating chances for them. I was right. We managed to shackle Kane and Son with Phillips and Struijk, but Llorente couldn't handle Moura's pace.

Apologies, I was led to believe Gray was on the bench, I can't bear to look at our bench as our substitutes rarely make any impact whatsover!

Bate has impressed at U23's level, no sign of him, is he injured?

Citeh have two quality teams to pick from, amongst their subs they had Dias, Jesus, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Mahrez, anyone of them would walk into our first-team let alone be on the bench, same with Liverpool whom have several unavailable players to call on, however still had Konate, Minamino & Henderson on their bench.

As for Firpo & Roberts they are as much use to us as the man in the moon, only got on because Forshaw & Klich were knackered.

Moving Phillips out of the back three was key to our downfall, a masterclass performance from Kalvin as you posted having Kane in his pocket. We also kept Son relatively quiet. Moura was the main concern every time he was on the ball, we couldn't handle him running at us with pace similar to Saint-Maximin at St James Park.

All the same I still think we were unlucky to come away from that game with nothing apart from pride

I covered my mouth, more effort than anyone else in the Leeds end apart from about three fans.

Have to say it's not easy wearing a mask for fourteen hours in a day, removed it driving to Woodall Services & back of course!

I reckon we had gone 2-1 down Swannie, and I was relying more on blind faith & hope of getting back into the game after a brilliant first-half performance.

What an experience that must have been for Archie. 15 years old and travelling with the first team squad to a PL game. That really is living the dream.
If he's as good as people are saying he has a bright future. He's from good stock after all.

At the end of the day no matter how we played in the first half it was still another defeat.Conte altered tatics in the second half but we did not as we only seem to have no plan B.The subs that came offered nothing at all.People keep saying wait until we get our injured players back it maybe to late by then and who is to say we dont get another spell of injuries. We need some new faces in but sounds like that will not be happening.

I wouldn't be too pessimistic about the January window. I am hearing we've agreed a fee for a 12 year old striker from Harrogate Town academy.
