Struijk plays DMF better with every game.... Koch I hear is coming back soon so plenty of quality to replace. Never ideal to have to play next man up but that's what every team has to do.. Nothing wrong with our squad depth

Struijk has a hip injury.
KP had a hip injury
Raph had a hip injury
Bamford had a hip injury
Klich had a hip injury
Koch had a hip injury

Most common cause of hip injuries in athletes is overuse

Coincidence?

However, we win very few matches when our best players are unavailable, so our squad depth isn't great.

Struijk will need to play alongside Llorente (our best CB pairing), if Cooper is unfit which is not a problem, midfield has been a concern for much of the season until the return of Forshaw, now we could be back to square one!

Fully agree Forshaw can't do the job of Kalvin, certainly not on his own.

Couldn't see us causing an upset at Chelsea even with our best side, so I'm not overly concerned about losing this game as long as we can keep the score down to a bare minimum.

Not normal elsewhere :)

But as someone said the other day when we were 2-1 down, "Normal service has been resumed"

They play tomorrow in the CL, but these teams have such big squads they can rotate a fresh first team in and not feel the difference.

Plus they are all chomping at the bit to get a place in the side and challenge for silverware.

His and their investment will decline massively if we go down to the Championship, maybe that would be a better time to make a more for them? Where will Bielsa be? Where will Phillips & Raph be? Things could deteriorate very quickly in a worst case scenario. Now i have cheered everyone up.

No Phillips no chance. Forshaw only looks good at the side of Kalvin, he hasn't got the legs or the aggression to hold the fort on his own and we haven't got anyone who can do what Kalvin does. Pascal hurry up we are going to need thi more than ever.

On a more positive note who do we play next? Did someone say Chelski. I will leave it there then.
We're gonna get shredded without KP vs Chelsea, Citeh and Liverpool

Yeah, they've rolled the dice on the back of our 9th placed finish last year and looks to me like they're having a bad night at the casino :(

Suspensions are our next problem with so many on 3 to 5 yellow cards

4. Roberts
4. Raphinha
4. Rodrigo
4. Cooper
3. Llorente
3. Struijk
3. Firpo
Perfect storm on the horizon

Know many of our fans dont agree but imo something is wrong somewhere.

Overplayed?
Overtrained?
Poor recovery time?

Whatever it is the fact every season under Bielsa we have suffered so much with injuries isnt a coincidence imo.

Also makes our small squad nonsense look very naive
It's been a constant theme since Bielsa's been here and it's concerning.

Cooper and KP get injured and our two subs are both players that look completely out of form and touch, but due to the lack of depth and quality in our squad, and Bielsa's loyalty, they will continue to get game time :(

Chelsea will be without Kante, Kovacic & maybe Jorginho, unsure who is their back-up for those three who I highly rate.

Still think a defeat is on the cards :(

I just hope Raphinha doesn't pick up his 5th yellow in the Citeh game, or else he would miss the Arsenal match at ER.

Rather him miss the Citeh or Liverpool games

Ah it's Tuesday I wonder what will be being discussed today? Will it be squad size or round pegs?

Oh a bit about someone buying the club first but that was just a distraction and now we're back with the same people making the same points yet again. Are people just copying and pasting their own posts every day to boost their post counts?

Yes but it is the same every day. I think that the vast majority of us would ahve liked to have seen 1 or 2 more new players in the summer but repeating it every day won't change anything.

We've had a small squad for 3 1/2 years. It is how Bielsa likes it. He has always been the same, a small core group consisting of first team players of which a few can play at least a couple of positions. Hence the round pegs scenario as he likes to keep selecting from his small group so they all get games, all feel valued etc. If injuries really bite then the youth players get the chance to step up.

I doubt Bielsa will be looking to add to the squad unless someone is likely to be out injured for a long time or he feels someone needs replacing.

So we all know that. Bielsa did it at other clubs and he has done it here for 3 1/2 years. Whatever view someone has on whether his way is right or wrong bringing it up every day won't change a thing.
