Moving tribute from Janice's family

Her husband, Paul Berry, said: “I’ve lost the love of my life and I’m going to spend the rest of it half a person. She had my back from the day we met, you couldn’t possibly ask for more love and loyalty from a wife.”

Her daughter, Blue, 25, praised her mother for forging a path for women in the media, saying: “Mum I love you. You paved the way for me to have an incredible life. You were a trailblazer for so many women to go conquer and succeed. The first woman to host Top of the Pops and the first woman to have her own daily show on Radio 1.”

Her son, Fred, 33, referred to his mother as an “absolute G”, adding: “She wasn’t only a mum to me but a whole bunch of my friends that she took in and cared for and I’ll never forget everything she has done for me.”

Long’s father, Collin, said: “I’ve not only lost a daughter but a true friend that I’ll never forget.”

The initial news of her death came from her agent, Nigel Forsyth. He said: “Janice was a wonderful, warm human being and exceptional broadcaster. She told a brilliant story and always made you roar with laughter with her sharp wit.”

He was 78.

With his death coming less than a year after Trevor Peacock that leaves just 2 surviving cast members from the main original cast.

Dawn French and James Fleet.

Iconic actor and singer Meat Loaf has died at the age of 74.

The music legend died on Thursday night with his wife Deborah by his side.

I was in the business when Bat Out Of Hell was a massive album, one of thousand albums I remember the catalogue number - EPC 82419 on the EPIC label through CBS

Never a big fan myself, I don't own any of his albums.

Bat Out Of Hell was never what you’d call a fashionable album, in that whenever it would have come out it wouldn’t have fitted in with musical trend of the time. But the fact it was so mega successful (wasn’t it on the charts for something like 2 or 3 years ) shows what a great album it was, albeit definitely one of those Marmite records.

Personally, I really liked it and still play it. Less so the following albums.

We saw Meatloaf at the CIA, now the Motorpoint, back in 1993 (having dug out the ticket stub to see when it was) and ended up on the front row, as from memory they balls up with the booking on the day we were meant to go, so when a second date was added they gave us tickets in the front row.

I remember my wife caught a (somewhat sweat soaked) towel he chucked into the crowd, she couldn’t miss it as it got her square in the chops, and when we got home found a plectrum (with ‘The Snake’ embossed on it) down the front of her shirt, which must have been one of several the guitarist was throwing into the crowd.
