Elbow

Post by 1964white »

Always believed Elbow early albums are their best works.

Asleep in the Back
Cast of Thousands
Leaders of the Free World

Thanks to Johnboy who nominated 'The Take Off and Landing of Everything' in our Album of 2014 poll, I've had a change of heart. I haven't stop playing this album since I purchased it, every song is a stunning piece of beauty.

Now onto their new album : 'Flying Dream 1'.

Can't see it surpassing 'Leaders' or 'Take Off' but you never know until you've heard an album a few times!

One of my favourite actresses 64. She was marvelous in the recent drama 'Hollington Drive'. Did you and Jill watch it?

Really glad you're enjoying Takeoff 64 it really is a hidden gem and one of my favourite albums.

I think Flying Dream 1 is a slow burner and much more mellow but is wonderfully arranged and will definitely grow on you the more you listen .

Already looking forward to seeing them live again in Scarborough this July!

We recorded the series & watched it the other week. I said to Jill at the time she looked like Diana Rigg.

Enjoyed it

Asleep in the Back is the one to own, a lot of Pink Floyd in there and it's basically a prog album

There are bits of Floyd on quite few of their albums.

I would say they've made at least four great albums.

Wow, Johnboy!

I'm two miles away from you if you are actually living in capital of the wolds & not on the outskirts.

We haven't regretted moving here 22 years ago, so central for all the beauty spots & our favourite towns & cities, as you say so peaceful & quiet. Tbh, it has become busier in the last few years with all the new builds in Driffield & the surrounding villages.

OMG!
Yeah we're pretty much central about 15 mins walk from the main street.
Already sampled Stuarts fish and chips a few times.
Don't suppose that's your cafe on Market Place is it???

Only been here a couple of months but we love it.
Really enjoy taking our dog out for regular walks on Fraisthorpe beach!

I wish I owned it :) one of the few cafes in Driffield when we first move here. I vaguely know the new owner as she does her Tesco shop the same time as we do on a Thursday morning. We were in Cafe Leon a few weeks ago.

Fraisthorpe is a popular spot for dog walkers as is the Brid beach when we are there early every Tuesday morning.

Do you know we run a supporters coach to every home game from Driffield?
