Re: David Bowie
Candidate for the worst ever cover ... That would freak my partner out, adult faces on babies is a big no no and she's right.. I'll pass, I didn't like Black Star

Re: David Bowie

Re: David Bowie
So far I have heard cd1 once... I liked it on first listen... 1st 2 tracks reminded me of Ziggy type era, and the rest more modern times.
It will certainly be a grower..
Re: David Bowie
I love albums that grow on me before I appreciate them fully from a longevity sense.
Re: David Bowie
This box-set occupying my playlist for the next few weeks

Re: David Bowie - Your favourite albums/songs from the great man?
changesonebowie is my favourite (1976 version)
Yes it’s a compilation but I didn’t know that when I heard my sister playing it to death when I was a kid, I used to “borrow” it when she was out.
Ziggy Stardust otherwise, and Changes as favourite song.
When changesonebowie came out on CD I bought my own (and it had extra tracks) but was mortified that Life on Mars and Starman were omitted so it could be a single CD yet they left bloody China Girl and a new track on it!
It still annoys me now

Wouldn't really call myself a massive fan but my favourite album would be Hunky Dory, Absolutely love Life on Mars; my favourite Bowie track.

Sorrow and Wild is the Wind are two of my favourite tracks, thought there are so many great songs to choose from.

Massive compilation seller, Finn. That's the problem with Best Of/Greatest Hits, some of your favourite songs were omitted, especially those realeased in the 60s/70s.Finnatic wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 1:47 pm changesonebowie is my favourite (1976 version)

Ziggy is possibly my favourite album, difficult for me as I'm an absolute Bowie fanatic.
Changes is a great song

Album wise - Ziggy, although run close by Hunky Dory
Song wise - between two off Hunky Dory, Song For Bob Dylan and Queen Bitch………probably

Hunky Dory is up there with the truly great albums, which features one of my favourite album tracks from Bowie, the relatively unknown beautiful song 'The Bewley Brothers a song that's gets to me all the time.Johnboy1965 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 4:05 pm Wouldn't really call myself a massive fan but my favourite album would be Hunky Dory, Absolutely love Life on Mars; my favourite Bowie track.

Really love the mans music....
Ziggy era obviously my favourite, but my 1st album of his was Space Oddity so that still gets played more than most
favourite track.... Warszawa off Low, sends shivers down my spine every time it is played....

So many great songs, Davy.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 4:20 pm Sorrow and Wild is the Wind are two of my favourite tracks, thought there are so many great songs to choose from.
'Wild is The Wind' is a beauty from the excellent 'Station to Station'
'Sorrow' was actually written for the McCoys featuring on their debut album back in the early 60's.
As a kid I bought The Merseys version which was a top 5 hit also during the sixties.
Then Bowie recorded his great rendition of 'Sorrow' from the Pin Up's album which was a massive hit in '73, same year as 'Life On Mars'
Love all three versions of 'Sorrow'

And me too, Hector
What a song Space Oddity was back in 1969, way ahead of it's time!
