Tyler Roberts for example?

Or continuing loyalty to players who apparently asked to leave because they had nothing left to give? Mateusz Klich.

Or continuing loyalty to an experiment that simply doesn't and hasn't worked, Rodrigo Moreno.

Or continuing loyalty to playing a player in a role he plainly doesn't suit? Dan James.

Nobody is criticising him for being loyal but when something plainly doesn't work it isnt loyalty to persist its stubbornness or inflexibility.

Certain things we do or he does plainly doesn't work and hasn't ever really worked, it isn't to much to expect a highly paid professional to acknowledge this and make a change imo.

As I said in another thread everyone blaming injuries is acting like the exact same thing wasn't happening in pre season when we had no injuries.

The performances were off way before injuries took hold but an element of our support refuse to acknowledge this and act like everyone who isn't blindly supportive of every decision the club makes is being unreasonable, they aren't.
Spot on 👏👏👏👏👏

He's not breaking them by enough. I want 16 kids getting a chance, stick 'em on as young as 14 and 15, playing game after game. It's as if he thinks experienced players just might be better in relegation scraps, the stubborn fool.
Now you're being silly, Mountain.

Only Gelhardt & Hjelde are ready imo!

I received a bit of a verbal bashing from a few for criticising our pre-season, which was lacklustre to say the least.

The fact that no one from the Premiership took a punt on him says a lot when £4.5m is pocket change for them even to just have him as 5th or 6th choice. Can't knock that he has done well with Brentford.

I'm with you regarding Summerville. He has looked okay which is why I am surprised that the seemingly only interest is from a German division 2 side. I would have thought some top flight dutch teams, championship teams here, maybe top level teams from other european leagues would have taken a punt on him.
Brentford fans felt they got a steal, majority of them couldn't believe they signed him so cheaply.

All water under the bridge now, still think we got rid too quickly. I suppose we needed to prioritise the Ben White deal which worked out brilliantly for us, along with Pablo, Ben was one of our players of the season & significantly played all 46 games in our championship title winning season.

So the story here according to multiple people is that Summerville missed the bus to an u23 game.

No permission to do so and he didn't let the club no.

When the club tried to contact him he didn't answer and what's more, they got an international dialing tone.

If all that is true it kind of makes a mockery of the Bielsa doesn't like bad attitude and let's anyone go who wants to.

Bielsa apparently wants to keep him.regardless

We have no idea why the lad did that if it is true.
So to draw conclusions about the manager based on information is another straw man argument that we sadly see raised up time and again when someone wants to make a point.

Football has undergone a process of bielsification; pressing and possessing, passing rather than dribbling, intercepting high up the field rather than making last-ditch tackles, are in vogue.

Marcelo Bielsa. The light that will never go out.

Tbf Summerville was suspended for having his brothers beat up a teammate.

It would suggest this isn't the most professional of players.

Oh dear.

Makes you wonder what Cuisance did to fail the test while Summerville and Big Kev passed?

Summerville is clearly unhappy here, let him go I say. But we will regret it I suspect.

Maybe not but you don't know what is going on in his mind or the managers.

One thing I do know about Bielsa is that he isnt swayed by cancel culture that society finds itself shackled with where anyone makes a mistake and he a gonner.

Bielsa said anyone who wants to leave can leave, Summerville wants to leave.

Seems simple enough.

If that is the case there are right and wrong ways of leaving. Hope Bielsa has told him, 'Don't leave me this way.'

If he wants to go, let him go! It's not like he's going to feature anyway. And if he leaves we could actually make a signing! :shirtw:

Mason Greenwood is a decent attacker.

Oh, too soon.

Given Summerville wants out and we know how Bielsa is if he feels questioned or crossed aren't we effectively 2 senior minute players down now?

I can't see Bielsa using him again and with Drameh leaving that little pool of u23s Bielsa uses which is very few is now even smaller than it was in December.

That's if he gets on the bus!

Such a ridiculous situation. He could be playing Championship or Bundesliga 2 football instead.
