That's how far our expectations have dropped, when it's a case of how many will we concede. If your defensive unit isn't strong in this league, then you're relegation fodder. So we work on the premise of out scoring the opponent, but don't have the players capable of this. This will go down to the wire.

When Bielsa adopted a more pragmatic approach in the last 10 matches last season we truly looked like we belonged at this level. It generated good performances and results against the top sides, so why abandon that?

We miss the presence of KP, but for how many matches was he our sole performer in central midfield this season? He's not a miracle worker.

We need to offer resistance in midfield and defence. At the moment we've got quality midfielders having the run of the park against us, we're not tracking runners and can't defend, or score from set-pieces. These are basic essentials that we are not doing every week.

I got slaughtered for criticising our pre-season even though I suspect I was one of a select few who actually watched all the games.

Apparently, pre-season games are all about fitness. I could see we weren't as fluent from the onset & by this season had started for real, we were nowhere near ready for the rigours of Premier League football.

The argument that it's for fitness only washes if your players display greater fitness than their opponents, we haven't done that this season. That Ajax match was enough for me, we were all over the shop.

We didn't do the recruitment we've needed to improve this squad over the last 3 windows.

We've also got a coach that thinks our players are on a par with Citeh, Chelsea, Scum and Liverpool, when they clearly aren't.

If he would be prepared to compromise and change our tactics I believe we would have a better points total this season.

We have got a few that are possibly of that standard: Meslier, Struijk, KP, Raphinha and Paddy.

But that's not a full team, plus back ups.

The pearls that we may have are continually spurned: Bate, Cresswell and Gelhardt.

Players as young as them have played at a young age in the EPL: Rooney, Giggs, Shearer, Scholes, Butt, Fowler, Owen, Kewell, Stirling, Lampard, etc. If you're good enough you're old enough.

Nice, the Injury list needed a freshen up Koch and llorente added and firpo good for a start.

Seems bonkers not to bring cresswell in and have ayling CB instead, should have dallas in midfield in place of Rodrigo, far too attacking for away at Liverpool but in Bielsa we trust I guess.
