Excellent post dashironsdanhirons wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 3:26 pm There was no bad luck in conceding 20 goals in the last five games...a goal here and there in the last few games would have made no difference. We got two against United and then conceded two more, our goals against United had a fair share of luck in them too, a cross from Rodrigo that flew in and forshaw wiping out fernandes in the build up to the second that could have been given in many games (although wasn't a foul).
This luck rhetoric is absolute nonsense. Us hitting the post is not bad luck, it's a shot that wasn't good enough to in. You forget all the times were were lucky this season - I could go through most games and find it, even in our most recent win against West ham, bowen missed an absolute sitter in the last second...we were extremely fortunate to get the three points there and really it should have only been one. The one place he has been unfortunate is with injuries...but it's also bielsas fault for refusing to get in reinforcements despite us all seeing that they're needed
While a general change in playing style might take a while to be implemented, switching from man marking to zonal marking is a change any professional player should be able to make in a short amount of time. Many players are internationals who will be used to zonal marking rather than man marking or will have played under different managers for a period of their career.

The players will need time to switch mentalities.
Training is repetition repetition repetition.
You start of having to think about a new way of doing things until over time and practice motor memory makes tasks easier. This is made harder in a team setup with all its expected moving parts and then is harder still with introducing creative elements.
The internationals arguments is a weak one because while the systems may be similar the players around you are different and the mentality of the side may be different. Plus the opposition players are also coming together from different philosophies and set ups.
So I expect tweaks instead of overhauls.
When it comes to luck on balance there has been more bad than good.
All those little incidents can add up.
But the reason we are where we are is injured players.
Why so many? Dunno but it has al conspired to get us where we are.

Marsch OUT
Football has undergone a process of bielsification; pressing and possessing, passing rather than dribbling, intercepting high up the field rather than making last-ditch tackles, are in vogue.
Marcelo Bielsa. The light that will never go out.

I don't think this squad is a minus -31 GD squad at all. The problems came from Bielsa thinking we could go for to tie against sides with much better players. Sometimes you have to make the odd tweak here or there.

Personality I feel he would of kept you up.
I think there's more of a chance going down now.
Also told Kalvin is our main target for summer and he's very keen to join.
Will become highest earner and captain

I needed that laugh
Not a hope in a million years KP would leave us for Newcastle over Champions league clubs.
Wouldn't even make the top 20 clubs I'd be worried he would leave us for and I say that as someone who does like Newcastle

“The decision was made for him to go before the game yesterday. Apparently the players were informed that Marsch was taking over in a separate meeting with the club on Friday. The fact Bielsa still turned up for Tottenham with his head held high tells you all you need to know about the class of the man. What a sad ending.”
Any one else heard the above? Makes the situation all the more sad if true and shows the measure of Bielsa to take charge of the spurs game.

Who can can pay more than us, Kalvin was going to villa for £25mil Bielsa and granny Val changed his mind.
Champions league clubs who Real Madrid, Man City, Liverpool.
Real Madrid want to bring in mbappe and haaland, they won't be going there for any less than highest earners.
There is also a wage cap in Spain, who do you think they will want more, KP or Those other two
Then you look at Liverpool does he get a game over fabinho nope, thiago nope.
So he would be bench warmer at best.
City the exact same who does he get a game ahead of?
KP has a relegation release clause for £25mil along with other player's in team, you may be laughing now.
But some club may be picking up a bargain if you get relegated, Raphinha release clause is £20mil.
It will be firesale 2.0 if you go down.
And all because Radz and 49ers wouldn't invest greedy bastards.

Absolutely no doubt about that.
Villa and Wolves would be above Newcastle as a choice.
Liverpool would definitely be interested, Henderson isn't getting any younger.
Manchester City need a replacement for Fernandinho and Pep idolises Bielsa.
Manure are desperately lacking that sort of midfielder.
Chelsea to are lacking a holding midfielder.
Then you go abroad.
PSG, Milan clubs etc.
Newcastle have nothing to offer him next season apart from money and the opportunity to be the face of a brutish regime.
I can't see that appealing to a simple Yorkshire lad.
If he leaves us it is for European football, even with all the money Newcastle have they are years off that, 4, 5 years imo.
KP will be in his 30s by then he isn't going to wait that long.
Money is all you have to offer for the foreseeable future.

Not sure about the accuracy of either of these statements, seen the rumours about raph but it’s far from factual.
Phillips signed his last contract when we were in the championship so I would doubt there was a release clause for if we were relegated from the prem. there was a clause for release of a similar figure to what you say but that was in the event we were not promoted in the 19/20 season - what’s your source?

Reality is you're club have done the dirty on the man who got you there in the first place.
I saw Leeds as a club that genuinely wanted to achieve and go places.
But it's clear under current regime this isn't possible.
And I hope you're board get all the abuse they deserve, because they are the ones at fault here.

When he signed his contract with you in championship it was publicly known he had put a clause in contract that if Leeds didn't go up, then he was free to go if release clause was activated,WhiteRose wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 6:48 pm Not sure about the accuracy of either of these statements, seen the rumours about raph but it’s far from factual.

This also applies if you get relegated along with Raph, as they will be on higher wages.
And the club will have wage reduction clauses in contracts should you get relegated.
