Radz has taken out a loan against next season's tv money, so where would that £100m loss come from? Fire sale!1964white wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 11:12 am I can't see us doing a Norwich or a Fulham if we go down. Both those clubs manage to retain the majority of the best players, whom are obviously not good enough at Premier League level.
Our squad would be decimated & unless there was a serious amount of cash injection, we'd struggle to gain promotion again.

I often wonder where Norwich fans get their enjoyment from? Surely getting promoted every other season would take all the buzz and excitement away?1964white wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 11:12 am I can't see us doing a Norwich or a Fulham if we go down. Re: How has Bielsa made you feel?
In the world of football he is a unique and fascinating figure. Not many people have the inner strength to hold onto what they believe in when in the pressure cooker environment that is modern football.
Obviously I don't know the man personally but he seems like a thourally decent guy who is loved by all.
It's a shame he has gone.

Re: How has Bielsa made you feel?
For all the folks who love the “ we all hate Leeds” line and use for a positive, Bielsa turned this club around in the mind of the majority of football fans in this country.
“ Love watching Leeds games”, “ I’d support Leeds if I didn’t support my club”” best team to watch” “ my second favourite team” etc etc.
That is some turn around and all due to one man.
Would I turn back to “ we all hate “ Leeds if we start heading up the table? Absolutely but it was great while it lasted.

Re: How has Bielsa made you feel?
There were some wonderful moments and it was great while it lasted, but how can some pretend the last few months haven't been completely depressing and demoralising? I would have preferred for to him leave last summer, cementing his legacy. Now I'm angry at him for the mess he's left behind.Byebyegeegee wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 11:49 am I think after 16 years down in the dumps, we fans had been so desperate for a change of fortune that when all of a sudden Bielsa came along and changed everything so dramatically from root to branch, got us progressing up the league and achieving promotion whilst playing fantastic football we fans (or was it just me) were incredulous and, of course, eternally grateful. Fanatical? yes! Delusional? I don’t know Chapel, but if it is then I’m proud to consider myself guilty.

I fully expected him to leave last summer. He got us up , kept us mid table, job done.

Delia enjoys herself raking in the dosh without too much outlay. She is lucky Norwich are in the back of beyond with very little competition from other football/rugby clubs therefore attracting 25k to 30k attendances.

On the cards if Bielsa had remained at Leeds or under the new coach, Sara.
I was ok about us staying up until the horror show at Goodison, even more concerned when we conceded 14 goals last week, could easily been more like 20 had Manure, Liverpool & Spurs had taken all their chances, thank god for Meslier who kept the total down somewhat.

Nice to know the new man has your backingAnonymous wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 1:03 pm I've never mentioned Liepzig. I'm mocking Marsch because he looks like the very definition of a corporate yes man, with his on brand smiles and quirky moves.
We need someone with a clear identity and a strong personality to galvanise the squad and the fans in the next twelve games if we're going to stay up, not some lightweight shill for the 49ers takeover.

We've not sold our "soul". If you think that you might be better off supporting the next team Marcelo manages than Leeds...Anonymous wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 1:21 pm I'm pretty sure Bielsa would have kept us up, with key players returning and a more winnable run of fixtures. Even if he'd taken us down, the club would have still been united, and we would have had the summer to regroup. What we have now is the worst of all worlds. We're more likely to go down, and we've sold our soul in the process.
If he took us down he wouldn't have stayed next season. Getting rid of Bielsa was a difficult decision and we'll never know if he would have kept us up but, based on results, there was no option other than to sack him

How very noble of you, Bielsa was given more than 12 games wasn't he ?
If he don't impress you, will you be going to Rosario to see the messiah unveil a statue of Tyler Roberts !!

It's weird. When we were in the Championship, everyone used to moan about losing our homegrown players on the cheap to Norwich and Burnley. Now they're whining about the PL and want to go back to the Championship.

The difference is Bielsa had a full pre-season and started in the Championship, Marsch has 12 games in the PL. Not fair to compare them, but who knows Marsch may just surprise all of you.

You get 3 chances a season to win something , 4 if you're in Europe . Realistically for all bar 3 or 4 clubs the league is out , so that really leaves 2 . I think fans these days should be happy with any silverware , League Cup is the least important but it still gives fans something to cheer . Europa League ? Well as it's a distant version of Fairs cup and Leeds have a history in that one , wouldn't mind one bit ........but we are a long long way from that right now.
