We have to have some trust in the 49ers instincts here; like it or not they are pros at another game and understand success and failure, everything except promotion and relegation in fact because they don't exist in the U.S.

Re: Jesse Marsch Fact
Love the fact that some people on here are writing him off before a ball has even been kicked.
Granted Bielsa is going to be a tough act to follow but I for one are going to get behind him.(Till he starts playing Roberts as a striker)
No one is bigger than the club not even Bielsa so it's time for everyone to pull together and stop whining.
Side before self and all that

If he's good enough for the Red Bull group (who know their stuff), then he's good enough for us.
Maybe, just maybe, the club know what they're doing?

Re: Jesse Marsch- RUMOUR - Confirmed
I've just watched the highlights of the Liverpool Salzburg Champions League game at Anfield.
Salzburg 0 - 3 down at 35 minutes and Stephen Warnock saying Salzburg are far too open ....... ring any bells?
Having said that we can't do anything else but get behind the new guy and the team.
I do quite like his aggressive streak.
Saturday will be interesting.

He has a good footballing brain, not sure why some are even writing him off this early.
It’s no fault of his that Bielsa was let go. In fact Bielsa himself is to blame for it all.

Sorry to say just what I have been thinking . Once again relying on Orta's judgement .Let's not forget Massimo Cellini recommended Bielsa , Orta /Radz thought Christensen and Heckingbottom to be a good idea . Anything which involves Orta I am dubious about to say the least . Anyway let's see how Marsch gets on ......hope he does a good job .

Re: Jesse Marsch Fact
I would think everyone will get behind him, regardless of their doubts. I think there would be doubts about any new coach coming in unless they have won the premier league a few times etc - but even then someone that has done that, Jose Mourinho, has struggled mightily of late.Johnboy1965 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 8:49 am Love the fact that some people on here are writing him off before a ball has even been kicked.![]()

Tha main thing for me is that Marsch looks like he plays a similar way to Bielsa. For me that was the big disappointment when we got Heckingbottom to replace Christiansen. We went from a coach trying to play a good style of football to the dinosaur type of football, all effort, get stuck in type of football which has sever limitations and wasn't the type of football to enable us to punch above our weight. Marsch has by the looks of it got a group of players that should be able to play the way he wants to play. He has a club from top to bottom playing in a way that should be able to adapt to his way of playing the game.
I saw in Bielsa someone that could have us punching above our weight, raising the quality of the team every season by improving current players, buying players that he personally wanted that could do better than the player he was replacing and having good quality young players coming through. Hopefully Marsch can do the same.
A decent video in this article

Does anyone know of anyone that's been down to the training ground to watch his first session, there must be loads of photos of the players scratching their heads doing the rounds ?

Re: Jesse Marsch Fact
Ffs the more this sinks in the more i'm starting to hate the club i've loved since the age of 5.
My Yorkshire Leeds is becoming Americanised, it's always been my biggest dread since they started dabbling in English soccer ( i absolutely loved it when those Glazier tw@ts took over scum to use as their cash cow)
And now we're going down that route, something is being ripped from me that i'm finding v hard to swallow, and i think i'm going to find it very hard indeed to follow Leeds until they're gone, i absolutely fcking hate the modern America and all it stands for.

Salzburg came back to tie the game before losing on a Salah goal 4-3.Prisoner37 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 9:57 am I've just watched the highlights of the Liverpool Salzburg Champions League game at Anfield.

There's a video of Marsch's halftime talk that day making the rounds:

Best comment: "He's already got the 'get into em' part, but to be proper Leeds he needs to add 'f*ck em up'."

I just hope he has learnt to organise a defence because if he has come here thinking we will get away with the exact same style Salzburg did and that you can fight a relegation battle with a bottom 5-6 squad by attacking and pressing then he will send us down.

A little bit harsh considering the fella hasn't been in charge of a game yet, besides, IF , we do go down, the damage is already done.
