Re: Jesse Marsch- RUMOUR - Confirmed
When Cooper is fit you'd expect he and Llorente to be first choice CBs with Struijk, Koch and Cresswell vying for first backup - not necessarily my preference, but likely.
With Kalvin back, he and Forshaw look nailed on for the double pivot, so no option for Koch there.
Long term I hope Charlie forces his way into contention alongside Struijk, so do we really need Koch going forward? Would we get our money back on him?
This assumes that we retain our PL status and Kalvin stays of course.

Precisely, he's shite anywhere else, half decent at CH his best and only place, he'll get better, if only he can stay fit, but one of those that needs a goodun alongside him.
Still desperate for at least 2 of the 3 back yes, although 1 of them improved team performance quite remarkably yesterday, some don't realise just how key they are, when back, any of us could pick the team - Bert's drilled them that well.

Yep and that's coming from a heavy user of stats. But football doesn't lend itself to statistical analysis. I swear by metrics and that may have some use in football down the line but stats in sports not called baseball or football don't really give a true indication of form or what went on.
Good fantasy tool in the US, and I'd imagine an excellent gambling tool as you say. I don't gamble.

It's an absolute piece of pizz to stay up with these players back, any manager worth his salt could do it.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 1:31 pm When Cooper is fit you'd expect he and Llorente to be first choice CBs with Struijk, Koch and Cresswell vying for first backup - not necessarily my preference, but likely.

If we do lose players like KP etc, this is where the game starts for the Doodle Dandy, and i for one will wish him all the best with what the Monkey goes and finds for him with the money, he'll need it and be a true test of his mettle.

I do gamble, but very rarely on football. Maybe the WC outright winner or something . Mainly golf & horses and there’s no substitute for watching. Stats just confuse what you know you’ve seen with your eyes.

Any chance of changing the tread name?
It’s not a rumour, I’ve seen him on the side of the pitch.

If you block them, do you still see their posts in quotes?

Re: Jesse Marsch- RUMOUR - Confirmed
I'd try to accommodate Struik but only in defence, he's been tryed in midfield before and he just isn't cut out for it likewise Koch. Struik is big unit and a useful aerial asset in defence or attack. A little bit more luck recently and he'd have 2-3 goals to his name.

Some negs on bamfords performance but motd analysed it well, he does a lot more for us than score goals, he is the only players really who we can get the ball up to and will safely hold up play for others to get forwards, the ball to raphinha shows what he is capable of for assists aswell - I think he is better starting personally, don’t really see him as an impact player and hard for the team to adjust to his presence

Re: Jesse Marsch post Norwich
We're talking about the confusing substitution of Rodrigo for Koch but surely we all remember the hundreds of times MB's subs were extremely baffling before it became obvious that he was just putting on his favourite son regardless of who actually did need replacing and the fact that a lot of the time he'd shuffle the players around like a pack of cards. Thank god those days are hopefully over (touch wood) but managers live or die on their decisions , yesterday he got one wrong big time and I'm sure he knows it but he absolutely got one 100% correct and it was this quick decision making that got us the win and I'll take that every game if that's what is necessary. Good luck JM !

mentalcase wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 12:48 pm Agree wholeheartedly, and the part in bold is the correct way to go about things.
On balance, well, result wise it worked out fine, IF, we hadn't have won, I, as I did at the time in the stands, question his decision to replace Rodders with Koch, we did lose shape, and conceded unnescessary possession at times, the game was going our way and Rodders was having urgueably his best performance in a United shirt, it was, and still is puzzling, as was leaving a real threat in JG on the bench for as long as he did, was it pure desperation he was thrown on ! Either way, it matters not, 3 precious points and the players will deffo have their tails up now.
Jury is out, but, hopefully, the majority will get behind him.
Staying up is the main aim, but the pre season is equally as massive, we need new talent, especially a back up keeper and central midfielder.
At the risk of sounding like Radrizzani, maybe Mateusz Bogusz will be the 'new' central midfielder?

Re: Jesse Marsch
Had a good game for me first time back and most here know I'm not Paddy's biggest fan. Lovely touch on the cross for Raph and really didn't expect him to score from there. He can use his right but he's way more comfortable on the left and it would have been a top class finish to put it away on his left given the keeper's position.WhiteRose wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 2:35 pm Some negs on bamfords performance but motd analysed it well, he does a lot more for us than score goals, he is the only players really who we can get the ball up to and will safely hold up play for others to get forwards, the ball to raphinha shows what he is capable of for assists aswell - I think he is better starting personally, don’t really see him as an impact player and hard for the team to adjust to his presence
Scored him an 8 for 45 minutes work, didn't see anything negative at all
