Zero chance of Aaronson now, and Ramsay will be elsewhere.
I like the look of Scott Twine from MK Dons, and I don't think he'd be too costly.

As an alternative to being an unambitious Premier League team then I'd consider promotion chasing more fun.

Surely this thread is the most relevant thread on the forum at the moment?

This is the Summer transfer thread but your comment is under this thread but has the Relegation thread title

So we won't be doing a Fulham, Norwich or a Watford.Cjay wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 2:34 pm It's been mentioned a few times but I think some of our fans may be slightly in denial about how bad relegation may be for us.
It's been reported most of our players have release clauses.
So Raph, KP etc won't be going for £100mil+, likely to be nearer £50mil the pair.
Even people like Meslier, Llorente, Rodrigo etc all will go for likely less than we would like.
The club is rumoured to be mortgaged to the hilt backed by Premier League revenue to over £120million.
Without Premier League revenue you have to found that money somehow to pay the debt. Radz and the venture capitalists won't pay it so how do you do it?
Premier League parachute payments in year 1 is apparently around £50mil.
That still leaves atleast £70million to find.
So first and foremost player sales will have to go towards that.
And with release clauses it's likely to swallow up the KP, Raph and probably someone like Meslier money as well.
And those are our 3 most valuable assets and after that we haven't much else.
Struijk has seen a drastic downturn in form.
Bamford has been injured for ages and has likely developed a bit of a sicknote reputation.
Rodrigo is an ageing flop on significant wages whose reputation has dipped significantly since he arrived.
Llorente is 29 nearly with again a bit of a sick note reputation.
Koch has just been to injury prone.
I think relegation would be a disaster for us.

If it's true I'd imagine the chances of doing an instant return are slim.

Normal service ?

He wouldn't have a choice.hector wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 4:14 pm Why so much gloom??
Just because there is a release clause of £25M it doesn't mean that is what they will sell for..........
All that means is that is what is needed to start a bidding war....
Not even Radz would be stupid enough to sell KP and Raph to the first bidder.......... Woiuld he??

Huh? Are you saying the club have mortgaged tv money for next season or this season? If the former, then it just gets worse for Radz. And people think he is a good owner!Cjay wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 2:34 pm It's been mentioned a few times but I think some of our fans may be slightly in denial about how bad relegation may be for us.

The Times reported it as well, they are very reliable, more so than the Mail.SG90 wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 4:52 pm Huh? Are you saying the club have mortgaged tv money for next season or this season? If the former, then it just gets worse for Radz. And people think he is a good owner!
According to the Daily Fail, KP, Raph and Bamford all have £30m release clauses. Can't see Kalvin being true as he hasn't signed a PL contract.
