I wouldn't blame Gelhardt if he left in the Summer. IMO Bielsa treated him appallingly. With all the injuries we've had this Season, Joffy has less game time than Bamford!!!!

Tbh I do not want to delve to deeply just yet into what the squad will look like next season if the worst happens. We do have some good young players but except for Drameh and Gelhardt they are all without meaningful experience.

Last year Fulham received £108m for parachute. Leeds will get more this time as the deal has improved.
Yes some of our buys have defered payments, as will our sales that is the way it works.

We are still in a strong position to rebuild.
Marsch OUT

Football has undergone a process of bielsification; pressing and possessing, passing rather than dribbling, intercepting high up the field rather than making last-ditch tackles, are in vogue.

Marcelo Bielsa. The light that will never go out.

Assuming we stay up, but lose Meslier, Phillips and Raphinha, how much do we need to spend in the Summer?

Last season - it is in the published accounts for season 21/22 - forget this season transfer involving Harrison James and Firpo. Let’s season was Rodrigo et al.

According to last accounts we owed £140millon or so due within the next 12 months.

We had another nearly £70million due after that and that is only assuming we haven't loaned even more money.

DD clearly knows more than I so maybe he can explain?

But the club have loaned money against future TV money I believe, tens if millions of pounds.

We owe tens of millions in transfer fees as well.

I read Leicester did the same, I think quite a few do, it's fine if you don't get relegated but what happens if you do?

Difficult to say. Personally we need Milner. I cling to the hope that he wants to play for us again. Whilst he has apparently been offered another year by Liverpool I hope the thought of being our salvation may turn his head. He will not need the dosh and will barely play for them if he stays.
We need that type of talismanic figure to get things going.

I feel like we are already down. Sorry but I am trying to get myself ready to accept the worse and soften the blow, but my contempt for the Four Horsemen of Incompetence (the three stooges and Bielsa) shall not relent, even in the highly unlikely event we stay up.

This is probably unlikely as well, but could we still go in for Aaronson even if we go down? I can imagine Jesse (if he stays on) will want to build a team around him and how he can get us back up again, the same way Pablo got us up and the same way Buendia got Norwich up in both of their promotion seasons.

If the stars (and stripes) did align and he did come in on the basis he will move on should we fail (which would be fair game IMO), it would be HUUUUUUGE and go a long way to restoring our faith.

This is probably just fantasy though, and we will probably end up with the return of De Bock and Mr. Tubby (JKA) *Charlie Brown Sigh*

Much of what we do depends on the board and their intentions. Without knowing that what will happen is all speculative. The one certainty is our liabilities. They are vey daunting but not insurmountable - but relegation was probably not even considered in the financial plan for the club at the start of this season. Therefore projected expenditure will probably not reflect prudence. As a side menu - We still have the JKA saga as well. I bet the legal bills have been eye watering.

We should hear in the next 3 weeks if we owe Leipzig 18 m for Jean Kevin Augustin too

Would that be the dogging, woman beating Stan collymore?

Hes a c*nt of the highest order, same level as that Agbonglahor thing and all the other "expert" pundits that drag themselves out of their holes to have a pop at leeds utd.

Thought I'd mention Collymore as all the talk of relegation, blame throwing, who's fault it is gets a bit boring.

Nothing is 100% certain at this point

Radz already said he couldn't afford a Championship club and judging by the arrogance of the club last summer its highly unlikely they planned to be relegated.

We dont have owners who will help fund the club much or at all in the venture capitalists case so I worry about us financially if we go down.

Be over £20mil imo.

Leipzig will want wage costs and legal costs.

An utter disgrace if Orta isn't sacked over that

Phil Hay not saying anything that hasn't been said many times on here.

Collymore is a women beating scumbag but his bit about the players isn't wrong either

Cooper
Phillips
Raphinha
Rodrigo
Bamford

I had started the thread:- "Former wife beater, dogger and occassional football Stan Collymore" but quickly changed it as I didn't want to get into trouble...

It just seems like very poor journalism.

Laying into anyone for something that happened last year is pointless. If he wanted to challenge and make an effective point, the time to lay into them was last year, when the issue was relevant. He might as well say we should have done more to land Maradona in 1987...

Will be interesting at right back. Ayling or Drameh?
Koch and Llorente will definitely be gone if we go down. There's a World Cup coming up and they will be desperate to be part of their respective national squads.
As for right back, we should try and sign Djed Spence from Forest. He's better than Drameh imo.

As a side note to that, I watched the MK Don's game at the weekend and the boy Twine looks worth a punt. He got another 4 goals and was named League 1 player of the year.
I said the same about Ivan Toney 2 years ago when he was at Peterborough and look how he's progressed.
