We've had five/six players unavailable for our last three matches.RobbieLeeds wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 2:21 pm Marsch kept us up, we looked doomed under Bielsa. Granted, there was 101 injuries and what not, however we also looked fairly doomed under Marsch at points too.

Well I agree that Lennon was a bit of a hypocrite - and that song Imagine looked like the height of hypocrisy to me given the setting for the video in his white mansion and the cost of the piano.

I think that's right Cjay - a there has to be a happy medium. Yesterday I thought we played with width quite well though.

The American takeover of the club doesn't worry me because they are Americans.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 12:46 pm I respectfully disagree; go back and read the multitude of comments decrying the American takeover of the club.
It's because of what that type of organisation stands for, does, means and more often than not (aside from Liverpool nobody can name 1 successful American venture capital takeover) causes (look at Burnley).
The fact they tend to be American is purely because as Bloomberg or Forbes said in an article they did American funds are attracted to football for the financial rewards.
I'd be equally as concerned by an English or Australian or Slovakian venture capital fund.
My concerns with the venture capitalists owning us aren't motivated by some dislike for America.
Just want to be clear.

Another thing Roger Bennett said this morning is that American owners are great if, and only if, they know what they don't know and act accordingly.Cjay wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 3:21 pm The American takeover of the club doesn't worry me because they are Americans.

Arrogance, however, is one of our defining characteristics, I'm afraid.
I'm not concerned about ownership looking first to make a profit. It has ever been thus. The best way to make a profit is to put a winning team on the pitch. I am concerned, however, that foreign ownership - American or otherwise - may not understand fully (or at all) the relationship the club have with the Leeds community. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

It was out of our hands going into the final game. Other than Joffy's disallowed goal we seem to have the luck that had avoided us of late. Brentford will never play has bad again with 11 they were the better team with 9. Well done Jesse but the work begins now.

Seems to me it's the same for every single team that has ever faced relegation. A new Manager is brought in with one job. Stay up by any means necessary. What has surprised me is so many here thinking it would be otherwise.

Do you just suppose it's an indication that JM has not been able to really implement his football ideas yet? And that survival was the ONLY priority? Hmm....Perhaps we should take a moment and consider the possibility that everything you think you know about how the team will play going forward might be wrong.

Whoever it is John has to understand the fans. Look at Leeds travelling support, they put their hard earned into it all, travel, tickets, food, hotels, petrol, their love of the club knows no bounds and it kills them when that money gets ripped from them, ask Man U fans.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 3:35 pm Another thing Roger Bennett said this morning is that American owners are great if, and only if, they know what they don't know and act accordingly.

That's why he now has a clean slate as far as i'm concerned and can be judged on the new season, i haven't seen anything yet but am prepared to put that down to the situation he arrived into and i'm off his back for now and hope we see something good come the new term.

Re: Jesse Marsch
No I don’t think we’ve seen “his team” yet. Not at all. 12 games is all he had and following a club legend with myriad problems to overcome. A minor miracle really attributable to many things and too many to mention. I mean the Brentford game. 9 men. And it still looked like 11 v 11 at times such was the tension. Best to remember he isn’t Bielsa and his brand of football is unlikely to be as dynamic but it’s now massively important we consolidate with a couple of boring mid table finishes. If he can achieve that it would be something I would sayBlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 4:03 pm Not a single one of you banging on about the lack of style, identity, width, or whatever else have reacted to this post match quote from Jesse Marsch yesterday. I would say a few of us have along the lines of next season will be the time to judge JM as he will have the players he wants and the opportunity to play the way he wants.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 4:03 pm Not a single one of you banging on about the lack of style, identity, width, or whatever else have reacted to this post match quote from Jesse Marsch yesterday. Interesting watching the celebrations after the game, Marsch didn't look too happy with Orta man handling him over to the crowd. Seemed like Orta trying to in on the plaudits, a very muted response from the fans.

You're right perhaps they haven't been, but i was fuming at what happened to Bert, it wasn't just Jesse any guy would've got it, i was pizzed and fuming more at the clown and Radz for trying to appease the 49er's at the risk of us going down, it showed the people running our club haven't a scoobie.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 4:46 pm This is fair enough and as it should be Kenny. Interesting interview with Eddie Gray today on talksport.
At around 6 minutes in the video he confirms that Marcelo Bielsa didn't want to bring in more players.

Yes. I have been watching and following LUFC on and off since the O'Leary days. Which was about the time we got live Premier League matches on US television. At least in my area. I became keenly interested when Marcelo Bielsa was appointed Manager in 2018. His ideas and methods are widely known to football fans in the Americas. And I thought it was a fascinating project. No offense to you English, but it was like landing an Alien Being into your football culture. How in the hell would this crazy South American be received in England??? After all, this is a guy considered to be an enigmatic genius even to those that love and admire him. A Manager that had not tasted much success at club level. But low and behold his methods and tactics did find success with Leeds in the Championship. And it was a fun ride!Kennyb41 wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 4:59 pm You're right perhaps they haven't been, but i was fuming at what happened to Bert, it wasn't just Jesse any guy would've got it, i was pizzed and fuming more at the clown and Radz for trying to appease the 49er's at the risk of us going down, it showed the people running our club haven't a scoobie.

I joined MOT after Jesse Marsch was appointed mostly to gauge the reaction of LUFC supporters. I thought it would be a complete anti-American shite show. But to be fair it hasn't been too bad. Except for you of course Kenneth....
