I am currently drinking a bottle of Rheinbacher pilsner from Aldi.
£3.49 for 6 bottles and actually very nice.

Been a real busy day today, wasn't really bothered about a drink, the Mrs changed my mind around 16.00hrs, I'm now showered and changed, so will be having some strong dark ales and porters
Cheers everyone :beers:

After drinking virtually every single day in Asia for nigh on 2 years, i arrived back in the UK on March 7th and haven't touched a drop since back :strong: :punch: :beers:

I can take it or leave it so tonight it'll be my usual orange cordial with water.

Jealous, my favourite seaside spot 60s.......(along with Robin Hoods Bay) although it's been a few years since I've got up there. York and Lincoln were alot nearer than Cardiff. Are The Dolphin and Jolly Sailors pubs still there ?

We had a drink in the Dolphin last time we were in Whitby.

The North Yorks Moors/Whitby is not too far away for us & then as is Scarborough, Brid, Beverley & York too.

Whitby is always busy, wouldn't venture there this weekend.

We are central for all the nice places here in East Yorks. :-D

Myself and 7 other guys have been visiting Whitby annually for a walking weekend for many years....we do a walk on the moors on the Friday followed by an evening in Whitby and then a walk on Saturday and another night in Whitby ! This year we did a 12 mile walk from Rosedale Abbey on the Friday and a 9 mile walk to Ruswarp / Staincliffe and back along the coastal path on the Saturday, we always have a great weekend and just love the place.

Got a couple of big bottles of San Miguel for later on tonight.

I popped em in the freezer, so they'll be nice and frosty.

I remember when in the 6th form, so 1980/82, we did a geography/geology field trip along the Yorkshire heritage coast, which meant walking up the coastal path from Scarborough up to Saltburn by the Sea, staying in Youth Hostels along the way. IIRC one was called Boggle Hole, which was either just north or south of Robin Hood's Bay. Even though that trip was all those years ago I still recall it fondly.

When I lived just outside York (Dunnington) in the late 60's/70's there was an army base not far away.......Strensall or Strensham, from memory. Not sure if that's still there ? :duno:
