I've got a good deal.

Armando Broja and Connor Gallagher in exchange. . . .
Also throw in Pulisic too :-D

Love Kante, however he's a bit injury prone of late

Notice your'e now saying record amount of soft tissue injury, glad it wasn't the ex manager eh.
If anything I think a lot, possibly most, of our injuries weren't soft tissue.

Talking about fatigue for a moment.....
Footballers, 90 mins running/walking/jogging.....

Tennis players, 4.5 hours of sprinting, running, etc and that's one day....48 hours later, maybe the same again....

Cricketers, batting, out there for hours and hours, running, running, running....then in the field, running, running, running..

Again, prima Donna's (sorry footballers)....90 mins at their own pace.....fatigue....laughable really.

What about cyclists 4 - 5 hour stages for 3 weeks with 2 rest days while travelling ,
Footballers don't know what hard work is

No I'm hoping Kalvin & Raphinha stay at Leeds, getting rid of your best players isn't good.

The main difference though is that footballers pick up knocks (slight injuries) due to it being a contact sport unlike those mentioned above.

That is why the summer break is so important as it allows those niggles to fully heal. A lot of people seemed shocked when Dallas said something along the lines of playing through injuries as if they thought he should be 100% injury free every match. It is rare as a footballer, no matter what level, that you are 100% injury free in any match but you get to know how your body can cope. For me the only thing that would stop me would be if it was a muscle injury that basically stopped me being able to run.

Cricket is a much slower pace. As a batsman you get your run, you then maybe wait 30 seconds to a minute before the next ball is bowled. A breather after every over too when the field postions are changed. Fielding and you are either in close so more about reflexes than running or you are in the outfield where you might only have to run once or twice every few overs. I wouldn't exactly class the likes of Gatting, Botham, Warne and countless others as being prime fitness specimens.

Tennis, you run flat out then have a bit of a breather till the next serve is made. A breather at the end of every couple of games too. Don't get me wrong the likes of Nadal etc are unbelievably fit but it is different. Tennis in some ways is more reminiscent physically wise to training sessions at football where you would do things like shuttle runs, quick sprints where you aren't getting tackled etc.

Also it's more important we bring in quality players rather than get rid of too many, we need a squad.

The Bielsa notion of operating with a small squad is unworkable in the Premier League, would have been disastrous had we gone down.

Check my player ratings table showing the amount of games missed due to injuries/suspensions by the majority of our squad, only four managed to play 30 games or more.

Plus Bamford isn't on that list.

Any first XI & we are looking at 150+ games.

I think it is workable but only if the squad has more quality. Our main issues last season was the injuries to KP and Bamford.

We had enough players in our small squad to take Bamford's place, Rodrigo, Roberts, James and Gelhardt but none of them had the quality to match Bamford's goal output and his workrate and overall link up play (Gelhardt maybe and hopefully in the future). So if one of the players had stepped up then there is no problem but as they didn't it was a problem. Quantity not quality.

With KP the stats are staggering in terms of how poorly we do without him. Again we had the quantity, Forshaw, Koch and Struyjk but none of those had his quality. So again similar to the Bamford situation if one of those players listed did as well as KP has done for us it wouldn't have been a problem.

Hopefully we can strenghten the overall quality of the squad if we do lose Raphinha and KP. If we get two players that are say 80% and 70% as good as KP then we are in a better position to last a season with at least 1 of those players playing every game, rather than say having KP playing 15 games and a player only 50% as good playing the other 23 games.

As with Man City

I was making similar comments when Marcelo was convinced he had every position covered at the beginning of the 2021/22 season.

The Athletic reporting that LUFC are increasingly aware that Kalvin Phillips will leave this summer.

A fee of between £50-60mil being reported to go to Manchester City.

If Citeh come in he's gone. He will just have to get used to being a small fish in a big pond. He'd be a fool not to move if he has ambitions of trophies.

If we had a choice I would rather keep hold of Raphinha than KP.

KP is too injury prone and has had a poor season, do I'd rather cash in and let him go and chase his career.

We'd be in a better position to retain him if we hadn't spunked a lot of Dosh on failed transfers.

Eg Rodrigo £27 mil, James 25, Firpo 13, and JKA 18 = £83 million.

No wonder we're having to sell KP and Raphinha

Sell Kalvin Phillips whose been a good servant and performer but who has developed a certain reputation for being injury prone having missed

15 league games last season
9 the season before
9 the season before that.

And who has really only ever shown the ability to thrive in 1 role in 1 system.

Our fans point to him winning the England vote but remember it was a public vote and our fans will have took it over (as we have done many times).

Should he have won it? Probably not.

Would he be an England regular under a less defensive manager than Southgate over people like Bellingham? Probably not.

I think he has done very well for us but I don't think he is irreplaceable and I do have serious doubts over whether he is able to play anywhere else other than his niche Bielsa role.

Let City take that risk.

Take the £60-70mil.

Sign Mohamed Camara from RB Salzburg for £20-25mil
https://totalfootballanalysis.com/artic ... midfielder And sign Tyler Adams from RB Leipzig for £15-20mil.
https://totalfootballanalysis.com/playe ... statistics If you are going to do this mythical Leicester model then do it properly.

KP is at his peak age and value, doubts over his fitness exist and his ability to adapt to a new style.

We can sell for good money and replace with 2 players who are younger, highly rated and know the style we are going to use having both been well versed in it from a younger age.

Throw in Marc Roca and even at the top end of those valuations we make a sligh profit whilst adding 3 players for the price of one.

This imo is something we need to do quickly if at all.

I'd do that asap cjay, agree wholeheartedly what you put, although 3 wages would be a lot more than his one, also, the club don't seem to be as forward thinking as the fans, it wont happen.

Yeah, agree Cjay

But you know how sentimental and complacent our club is
