I thought they would get at least 55 million each for the pair of them

I'm dreading the Rapha sale now

Just laugh at them, not worth worrying yourselves, folks.

They don't give a damn about our fan base, so not worth wasting breath on them.

Let's face it, we've always been a laughingstock, accept it & you'll feel much better.

Grealish had a £100M release clause in his contract and that secured the money for Villa. When Philips signed his last contract with us we were just praying he’d stay for the extra year or two to help us get promoted. We weren’t in a position to pin him down further. There may even have been an agreement then about facilitating his exit when the time came.

He’s not had a great year, he’s been injured, more ineffective than at any time with Leeds, injured for long stretches and now like a fish out of water under Marsch. Maybe the club know more about his current capabilities than anyone else, e.g. the fans or Man City? Many here have said previously that Klich has been broken by Bielsa ball, well Philips played as much as Klich. There a lot of miles on the clock.Philips owes us nothing and maybe the club knew they needed to cash in now or face a declining asset during next season - who knows.

It really isn’t in Radrizani’s interest not to maximise the return on his key asset. Of course I’d prefer to get more but we need the cash and we need it now.

If they gave me the largest microscope in the world they couldn't measure my disinterest in him doing well or how how career goes. I feel a bit like when Kewell left. We don't get as much as we should, player and agent laughing all the way to the bank, f**k 'em.

It isn't a great deal but equally it isn't a bad deal. I hoped we'd get around £50m and think we'd have probably got £60m if we'd sold him last summer. Sadly this last season has seen KP miss a lot of games through injury and that has pushes his price down (a bit like how there were reports of teams interested in Bamford for around £25m but how much would we get if we sold him now?). He also hasn't played to his best for either us or England this year.

So it's probably a fair deal for all concerned. If he gets back to his best and stays relatively injury free then City have got a bargain. If his injury problems continue to plague him (and he has had injuries problems throughout his 4 years as a regular) or if he cannot get back to his best form then we've done a good deal.

City can afford the gamble. I don't think we can. It showed last season how poor we were with him being out injured. Hopefully we spend the money wisely and get one or two players that are decent in the position and also less injury prone. Having someone who is only 80% as good as KP but plays 20% more matches than KP played balances it out. Having someone who can play 80% as well as KP but is fit for the full season makes us a better team than last season.

Feel I should add something meaningful to the debate, but I am just that pissed off I can't come up with anything. I just somehow thought it was normal business practice to drive the hardest bargain you can for your biggest assets.

The Raphinha deal better be close to 80M as I was hoping for 120M for the pair.
Good luck to KP, need a replacement sorted next week.

He won't get injured at City because he'll not play that often.

He will be an expensive bench warmer, which pi55es me off, as he could help us so much next season

I hate this deal. We should have been getting Harry Maguire money. We had a player who was Leeds through and through and wasn't making any noise about leaving. I'm pretty sure that KP would have told the club he'll do what's best for LUFC. If we told him 45m was too low, he wouldn't have complained. We should have asked 80m and settled somewhere around 60m. And if Citeh don't want to pay that, he'd stay with no complaints.
We've been through it all together. And we've had our ups and downs

If he was Leeds through and through, he'd still be a Leeds player. Even Harry Kewell and Alan Smith had excuses like the club had to sell and/or had been relegated. Phillips was so anxious to get away that he sacked an agent for being nice about Leeds.
