Breakfast Debate Weekend Premier League Chat/Thoughts?

Post by 1964white »

Crystal Palace v Arsenal

Who will score more goals this season? Zaha or Jesus

Newcastle v Nottingham Forest

Newcastle have won more league titles & FA Cups, Forest have won more European Cups. Barcodes haven’t won a trophy since 1954, Forest 1980.

Which is the bigger club?

West Ham v Manchester City

If Pep Guardiola were West Ham manager, would he do a better job than David Moyes?

Everton v Chelsea

Would any Everton players make it into Chelsea's best starting XI?

Leicester v Brentford

Are the financially strapped foxes in for a tough season?

Will Brentford miss Eriksen?

Bournemouth v Aston Villa

Can the Cherries survive in the PL?

Will Stevie “Wonderful” Gerrard achieve a higher position than last season’s 14th

Fulham v Liverpool

Mitrovic scored 43 goals in the championship last season.

How many goals will the big Serbian score in the PL?

Crystal Palace v Arsenal

Who will score more goals this season? Zaha or Jesus

Jesus by a mile.

Newcastle v Nottingham Forest

Newcastle have won more league titles & FA Cups, Forest have won more European Cups. Barcodes haven’t won a trophy since 1954, Forest 1980.

Which is the bigger club?

Nottingham Forest, Newcastle have a larger fanbase but no real history of note in living memory.

West Ham v Manchester City

If Pep Guardiola were West Ham manager, would he do a better job than David Moyes?

Pep is a class manager, people understandably use money spent to bash him with but teams have spent a fortune before and achieved nothing.

He would do fine elsewhere imo.

Everton v Chelsea

Would any Everton players make it into Chelsea's best starting XI?

Nope

Leicester v Brentford

Are the financially strapped foxes in for a tough season?

I think so, not saying they will go down but there record without a 35 year old Vardy is relegation level.

If they are reliant on an ageing and increasingly fragile Vardy then they will struggle
.

Will Brentford miss Eriksen?

Yes one of my favourites for the drop.

Bournemouth v Aston Villa

Can the Cherries survive in the PL?
No, favourites for the drop.

Will Stevie “Wonderful” Gerrard achieve a higher position than last season’s 14th

Not convinced they will make top half, maybe 11th, 12th.

Fulham v Liverpool

Mitrovic scored 43 goals in the championship last season.

How many goals will the big Serbian score in the PL?

5-10.

Mitrovic will do well to reach double figures, Cjay

This season will prove if Mitrovic is still a championship striker, I reckon he is.

I think people have different perceptions of what a Big Club means. It is the size of the fan base, is it how rich you are, is it the amount of trophies won, is it about the history of the club, is it where in the country you are.....who knows?

So is it Forest or Newcastle?

Mitro is a good player. Turns 28 next month.

He has some great attributes. Strong, great in the air. Fulham were a shambles last time they were up but look far more able this time.

Hope I'm wrong but he could end up with over 15 goals this time.

Hate the guy but there ya go.

Crystal Palace v Arsenal

Who will score more goals this season? Zaha or Jesus

Dunno but probably not Zaha

Newcastle v Nottingham Forest

Newcastle have won more league titles & FA Cups, Forest have won more European Cups. Barcodes haven’t won a trophy since 1954, Forest 1980.

Which is the bigger club?

No question Newcastle by a country mile

West Ham v Manchester City

If Pep Guardiola were West Ham manager, would he do a better job than David Moyes?

No I don’t think so.

Everton v Chelsea

Would any Everton players make it into Chelsea's best starting XI?

No, probably not sad to say - don’t like Chelsea one iota.

Leicester v Brentford

Are the financially strapped foxes in for a tough season?

I think/hope so!

Will Brentford miss Eriksen?

Yes definitely!

Bournemouth v Aston Villa

Can the Cherries survive in the PL?

Hopefully not - Bournemouth really shouldn’t be a Premier League club.

Will Stevie “Wonderful” Gerrard achieve a higher position than last season’s 14th

Not a fan of Villa so hope not, but then again they might but then again 14th is about their level.

Fulham v Liverpool

Mitrovic scored 43 goals in the championship last season.

How many goals will the big Serbian score in the PL?

Not enough - hopefully

Difficult one, Swannie

I would think an accumulation of factors:

What division a club is in.
Trophies won.
Fan base.
Ground facilities.
Financial power comes into it nowadays.

Forest & Newcastle is a difficult one as they have both been in the doldrums in recent years, their successful times were many decades ago.

Crystal Palace v Arsenal

Who will score more goals this season? Zaha or Jesus

Jesus to score more than the diving fairy

Newcastle v Nottingham Forest

Which is the bigger club?

Right now, Newcastle

West Ham v Manchester City

If Pep Guardiola were West Ham manager, would he do a better job than David Moyes?

The cream always rises to the top

Everton v Chelsea

Would any Everton players make it into Chelsea's best starting XI?

No

Leicester v Brentford

Are the financially strapped foxes in for a tough season?

Both the foxes & the bees will be competing in our min-league

Will Brentford miss Eriksen?

Yes

Bournemouth v Aston Villa

Can the Cherries survive in the PL?

Likeliest candidates to finish rock bottom

Will Stevie “Wonderful” Gerrard achieve a higher position than last season’s 14th

Unconvinced, could be sacked if Villa don't improve on last season's position.

Fulham v Liverpool

Mitrovic scored 43 goals in the championship last season.

How many goals will the big Serbian score in the PL

8 or fewer

One thing I've realised is that I'm going to be cheering on (not literally) the top 6 to beat the lower down teams . To make sure last season doesn't happen again, we need Liverpool to beat Bournemouth, Chelsea to beat Forest etc etc. , at least until we are in a relatively safe position. Goes against the grain, so the sooner we look safe ,the better.

I have Liverpool in fade, should still finish second but much closer to Spuds/Arse/Manure/Chelsea than City...

Newcastle

If Pep Guardiola were West Ham manager, would he do a better job than David Moyes?

Yes

Apparently Yes

Can the Cherries survive in the PL?

No chance

Will Stevie “Wonderful” Gerrard achieve a higher position than last season’s 14th
