Doesn't matter. You are entitled to your opinion just like everyone else. But I still think at about $4M this would be a low risk/high potential reward type of signing. Wagner is currently 3rd in assists (11) and 5th in key passes (55) in MLS this season. While playing on the best defense in the league. (Only 19 goals conceded).

He was supposed to be working somewhere in Europe during our Australian tour, a month passes by & nothing has materialised since, no wonder the likes of Phil Hay are saying there is no credible links.

If sources are true Orta is on holiday, this window is going to pass us by when we all know at least two more imperative signings are required.

You have two homegrown lads who left MLS years ago to improve their game alongside a young English lad who left The US four and a half years ago to pursue an upward trajectory back in England.
Two went via the continent where they were brought through by both their club and National side.
Harrison developed well under Bielsa to become a sought after winger in PL.

Kai couldn't get a kick in the German third division and at 22 left for MLS.



Opposite trajectories.

As for low risk / reward signing... Pascal and Hjelde are there already. Why buy another who isnt any better and perhaps could hold them back?

I am up to £120M spent and only £4M generated on sales.

Plus many of those new guys are on 4 year contracts.

Kurt Warner couldn't get a game in the NFL for love or money, spent 3 years at lowly Iowa Barnstormers before finally getting picked up by the Rams, then in St Louis, became part of the Greatest Show on Turf, is regarded as the greatest undrafted player in the history of the game..

Don't judge a book by it's cover, it could be German teams just overlooked him, it could be he's ten times a better player now than then. Firpo for me is first choice but for 3/4 M Wagner is worth the toss of the coin to back him up, that's peanuts.

Nothing unusual.....he seems to have the whole of January off anyway and seemed like he had from July through to September last year . Nice work if you can get it . I think the rest of the time revolves around playing Football Manager . There is useless, and then there is Victor Orta a few levels beneath that !

We were name checked amongst others by David Ornstein regarding this earlier today.

Phil specifically named him as a target months ago.

You could say this shouldn't be a priority but imo it should.

I still think we are very light in midfield.

Roca and Adams get an injury and we are back to Sideways Adam or teenagers with 0 first team professional matches between them.

Manure apparently want £14mil.

I'd ask them for a loan with an obligation to buy and give them say a £4mil loan fee plus 100% wage coverage to sweeten the deal.

Midfield imo is still very light and an extra talented player with first team experience would be very useful.

Not at the expense of a left back and an attacking player but given we have a net spend of 0 I would hope as a Premier League club in our 3rd season we would have the funds to do say another £50mil and that should be enough for all 3 positions.

As things stand we are on an average transfer window.

A good one would be left back and attacker.

A great one is a midfielder like Garner as well.

The club claim to have learned lessons, so far I don't think they have.
