The only reason some want to sign him, is to hope to sell for a "profit", which is just sad imo. We should be signing players who take us to the next level.
Starts in a three with Stach and Ampadu replacing Gruev.... He's also ready made Amps replacement if he gets injured and a player that can cover all three CB positions

We are overrun in midfield I think. Why spend so much on a player that needs developing when we have the players we already need in his position? Now if we'd sold Tanaka/Gruev for prices being touted a couple of years or so back, Shea would be a great signing. His availability has come a year too early for us...

We need a squad together that is better in quality than we had last season. We need to improve on last seasons standing. And we need that now - not in 6 months and not in a years time. Now! Investing for the future needs to wait for another day further down the line when our finances allow us to carry a player or two while the develop

Gruev isn't a starter. Also no guarantee he's better than Gruev either.

Fulham? No ambition. We will leave the likes of Fulham in our wake the next season or 2. We will not miss this guy. NEXT...

Not at all fussed about not getting him, central midfield is where we are overstocked. Happy that we were prepared over the odds for Trafford and Tarik as they look to be top quality who go straight into the team and improve it.

He may go on to be a top player but £30m is a lot for what would initially have been a squad filler.

He won't be pointing his finger at that badge if Fulham fail this season.

London & money the attraction, not the club.

I reckon his agent had a lot to do with his move to Fulham, more money in his pocket.

Probably but the main fact is Southampton didn't accept our offer, at that point he cannot choose Leeds..

Well we had to accept a lower offer for Raphinha because he wouldn't go anywhere else except Barcelona.

Just saying.

I think Leeds were right not to pay 30 million for him. Looking at the squad right now, I am not sure Charles would add 30million in value for us this season.
Considering asking price from Marseille as of today for Paixgo is about the same, that would be a better investment for Leeds.

I agree. He doesnt add value for where the squad is at this point We have a large number of midfield options who are well embedded in the squad.
I personally also think 30million for him is too much. I realize he's young, talented and will grow, but at this point we need to spend our sheckles elsewhere.

I also think weve sent a message that we will negotiate to a point but are prepared to walk away, no matter how talented the player is.

are right now.

I don't think we had to accept a lower offer, we just did. That doesn't mean Southampton had to...

Couldn’t see Shea being twice as good as Longstaff for us this year, at twice the price.

We can always look at him again in future if things change, like the Wilson saga.

We had a particular value in mind for a player. As did Southampton. The player is going elsewhere. Fair enough. We all move on............
