Just watched the first 45 minutes.

I'm intrigued why Gnonto received so many top votes.

Joseph & James were more involved going forward than the little man who should have buried that early chance.

In fact, every player apart from Bogle & Meslier contributed more.

Thought both James and Gnonto were pretty ineffective for large parts.

The goal saved Gnonto and winning the pen saved James to a degree.

But Gnonto should have scored twice, he created 1 chance all game (same as James) and if they are going to replace Jimmy they need to be much more of a threat.

James was poor, no shots, 1 chance created, lots of running but nothing came of it bar the pen.

Don't think either of them had a standout game personally.

Firpo and Bogle created more chances than those 2 (infact they created more each than both combined).

Bogle was awful defensively.

Out of position for Pompey's first goal.
Don't think he won a single ball in the air.
A couple of silly fouls committed outside our box.
Gave away a penalty, you cannot arm-lock an attacker around the neck & expect to get away with it.

Rutter clearly worked on nothing during the Summer!!!!!
Way better when James gets fouled than when keeping the ball!!!
Hope bringing Bamford on as a game changer does not become a feature!!!!!!
Meslier 0 saves 3 shots faced 3 goals conceded!!!!!!

Bogle was a defensive bomb scare, basically a right sided Firpo (for most of his time here).

But that is what Blades fans said, does fine offensively but defensively he's not good.

Point was offensively the full backs were more creative than the wingers

I think lots of running is good. I don't like players who can't run. I would say players who can run are better than those that can't, it means they have energy and are fit.

James against Ogilvy, someonr who can run, against someone who can't, result fouls and a penalty.

Give me good runners anyday, skill with speed is the best combination, but running fast comes in a good second.
