The Carling Nations Cup is due to kick off next week with Ireland v Wales on Tuesday 8th February and Scotland v Northern Ireland on Wednesday 9th February both at Dublin’s new Aviva Stadium.
Robert Snodgrass has been called up by Craig Levein for the Scotland squad and will be keen to get a chance after picking up an injury last time he was called up by George Burly to face Japan. With the on form Snodgrass and Charlie Adam Scotland will have a midfield to watch. George McCartney has also been named in the Northern Ireland squad by ex-Leeds player Nigel Worthington. McCartney already has 34 caps under his belt for the Green and White Army and has scored one goal.
