Worldwide fanbase ?

Post by JonTheBassist »

http://www.leedsunited.com/news/2011071 ... 85_2391090

Just noticed on the link they say over 800,000 people check out the O/S every month!
That got me thinking.... Do any of you know the estimated amount of fans Leeds have worldwide?
I seem to remember them doing some sort of poll thing a while back, but never saw the results...

very difficult to tally. I'm a Leeds Utd fan, (have been since 1970), or am I ? Been to less than 20 games in that period of time, but when asked what football team I support ? I say Motherwell and Leeds Utd, the rest can go #### themselves imho.

Off Topic, sorry. For those travelling north at the weekend, safe journey and enjoy your trip to 'God's Country', (worse than Scunthorpe on a bad day). A huge Leeds support amongst Motherwell fans, especially those over 30.

Your a Leeds fan in my book, I suspect you'll have divided loyalties Satdi over 3500 LUFC fans estimated to be there.

I've been in the US 20+yrs now have met LUFC all over the US, Canada & the islands approx 20% have never been to a game but are just about as passionate as those born near stadium of the gods.

Welcome Motherwell! Can't support two teams, in my book tho. Support one and follow the other, surely?

World wide fanbase? Well, over the years we've had Leeds fans posting on here (or in our live chat room), from: USA, Aus, NZ, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Denmark (!), Finland, Faroe Islands, France, Germany, Korea, China (before the internet block there), Malaya, India, S.Africa, Singapore, Greece, Brazil and even some place called Ireland!
Strangely, we've had no posters (that I recall), from any of the eastern European countries...tho I have met Leeds fans in Poland, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia, on my travels.
Italy is another country we've had no posters from and tho I lived there for many years, I only met one or two who followed Leeds, but were Inter and Udinese fanatics.

So yes, this club is massive in terms or world wide fans. There was a google map set up where Leeds fans could post their location...was that on the O/S, or the YEP?

driving down the A303 the other day (3rd,) the only car "wearing" colours had two scarves and a large sticker/pennent in the back window, proudly displayed.

and if Bumpt isn't a word it bloody well should be

really surprised the Yorkshiremen amongst us have let that go, but I'd have to agree with you ..though you do need to go a little further north than Motherwell to be accurate.

It's got nowt more than North Yorkshire nationals parks or the penines. Just a lot of tranny's running round tossing things and eating things that normal folk would bury or burn.
