Rotherham v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings

Post by 1964white »

My ideal team would be :

Silvestri

Ayling Bartley Jansson Taylor

Bridcutt O'Kane

Sacko Hernandez Dallas

Wood

Unfortunately Green will be the preferred keeper. Jansson is suspended. Bridcutt & Hernandez are injured. I would definitely start with Sacko & Dallas for this game

Hopefully Monk goes with :

Silvestri

Ayling Bartley Cooper Taylor

O'Kane Phillips

Sacko Roofe Dallas

Wood

Subs : Green Berardi Vieira Grimes Mowatt Doukara Antonsson

I like that line-up, Leon. I see you've put Roofe 'in the hole' as, I think, Gary suggested. Be interesting to see what he could do in there

We have a real problem if Bartley or Cooper suffers an injury during the game

With our two quality proper footballers out & no sign of Bridcutt returning this is looking like a real banana-skin game now :(

Berardi off the bench with Ayling moving inside? I agree we will miss them, but we can't be negative, time for others to step up and stake a claim

Yes Nick allow Roofe to play behind & off Wood, he looks lost out wide for me

He won't be as effective as Pablo who dictates our midfield & makes us tick, however I do think playing Roofe there will be more beneficial to us, could be the making of the lad, I say lad even though he is 23yo. Dallas will work his socks off as he does & assist Taylor defensively when required. We need the pace of Sacko who is much preferred to Doukara for me. One thing I don't want to see is Phillips playing in that No.10 role as he looked like a fish out of water

Only option even though Ayling has only played at CB on the odd occasion

Roofe is definitely worth a shot in there, seems he played that role for Oxford, if memory serves. Sacko right and Dallas left works for me, too. Phillips needs to play beside O'Kane and just win it and give it. And not take our set-pieces!!

Not sure he's tall enough to see out of the top of it.

Apart from the keeper our ex-boss thinking on the same wavelength as myself with his team

Neil Redfearn has managed both clubs within the past 18 months, and has told Radio Yorkshire the Leeds XI he would pick for the match.

This is the starting XI Redfearn says he would pick, speaking on Wednesday night's (23/11) Yorkshire Football Show at 6pm.

Rob Green, Luke Ayling, Kyle Bartley, Liam Cooper, Charlie Taylor; Kalvin Phillips, Eunan O'Kane, Stuart Dallas, Kemar Roofe, Hadi Sacko, Chris Wood.

Going for a 2-1 win however I'm not at all confident with this one with us lacking the quality of Hernandez & Pontus. I do think the loss of these two plus no sign of a return of Bridcutt evens this game our somewhat. Just hope Monk starts with Sacko & Dallas, we need to put the Millers on the back foot from the start

I see where you are coming from Oscar however I do feel it would be dangerous making three changes to our defence. Saying that....

I'm fed up with calamity jane
I love Berardi but is he ready yet ?
Ayling has not played CB too many times of late
And you know my feelings on Cooper

I went with - Silvestri, Ayling, Bartley, Cooper, Taylor which is probably one change too many so maybe we should stick with Green & hope Cooper has a stormer. A very concerned '64 v a team we should be taking to the cleaners !

For me we should go for Rotherham and try to score a few goals so

Green

Ayling Bartley Cooper Taylor

O'Kane Phillips

Sacko Roofe Dallas

Wood
