You're talking nonsense.

Pearce did really well at times, but he's no Sam Byram or Charlie Taylor.

Better in the 2nd half but no real chances.

Alioski had a shot 1st half cant remember any others.

Villa had plenty of chances which they didnt take.

BPF again saving us, Pearce did well and O'Connor.

But its another defeat against a side who didnt really get out of 2nd gear.

Positives.
BPF
Pearce
O'Connor.
It was only 1-0.

Negatives
Lack of attacking threat.
Could have conceded more
Another defeat
Predictable substitutions.
Tactically 1 dimensional
Villa didnt really have to play well to win.

Bye bye Hecky

We need to close teams down. We give them space, let them play. The middle of our midfield was woeful today and we don't have a striker who can get physical and hold the ball up.
Midfield and attack need to be much better. The defenders played maybe on of the best game all season.

Glad to see Pearce get a start again today, should have been playing the last few matches. Certainly looks our best option at left back and would have been nice to have seen him get a really good run of matches - hopefully even the idiot can't drop him again.

BPF did well tonight. Like some have said it is a bit hard to judge him on all facets of what a keeper needs to have but for me he seems to be improving every match. Not sure whether he is good enough to be considered as first choice for next season but certainly would be first choice of our present keepers.

Apart from that no other real positives. O'Connor did okay (and for those saying about TC not having an injury ravaged defence do not forget that he had to play O'Shaugnessy who wasn't even a defender at reserve level - at least O'Connor has been playing as a centreback for a few years so knows the positioning etc)

Shields53 wrote: Fri Apr 13, 2018 8:55 pm Villa weren't great today and beat us. I know we came back into the game at points but there was only really one team that came close to scoring in the second half and it wasn't us.

Heckingbottom's tactics are the same as Monk's only the defence isn't as good, there's no Chris Wood to get us a goal and confidence is low because we keep losing.

He can complain about injuries and suspensions at the back, but the best form of defence is attack and he's had us playing on the back foot and left some of out best attacking players on the bench.

All our best attacking players were available tonight and we never looked like scoring.

We aren`t Villa, mate. If you could put 20 Million into our transfer kitty that could help.

He looked ok, he did well tonight. I'm not sure if he is quality yet, too early to say.

It's certainly something to work with, and I can be pleased about the performance of individual players whilst at the same time thinking it was a generally inept performance. It wasn't an awful performance but if I'm supposed to take inspiration from that, then I'm sorry but I can't.

We have spent quite a bit of cash though.

We should have beaten them at Elland Road.

Dont see any reason to pretend that there is much encouragement in another defeat.

Villa were average today, we were poor imo.

Fair enough. And no doubt: at best we have potential. The sooner people accept it the better. We haven`t been underachieving all in all.
We are a mediocre team fans thought we were worldbeaters though...deluded by the mass of new players who came in and the fact we got lucky the first 7 games. People should watch those games again, and they might realize that we weren`t that good in those games either.
