He deserves his chance but even if he gets selected for the Euros I doubt he will play.

16 league goals (with room for one or two more). Who'd have thunk it?

18 without VAR

And unlike many others in the scoring charts hasnt boosted his total much by taking penalties (only one against Burnley Klich took the others).

Not bad considering he had one PL goal to his name before the season started.

I suspect that Rodrigo is a more natural finisher though.

Bamford for England....

How long would it take for the press and the medial in general to shred him?

5 minutes

Southgate would ruin him and he would probably become a scapegoat for England's lack of goals and creativity at the Euros.
Let him have a well deserved summer break to come back refreshed and ready to bang in the goals for us next season.

All this was said about Paddy after we won the championship... that he was not a PL striker... Its for him to succeed or fail... he is not going to refuse the call... no one would...

There is at least 2 penalties Paddy should have been awarded, and a couple of ridiculous off side calls against him... he could quite easily be on 20+ goals... I truly believe there is room for both Paddy and Rodders in the team next year, Rodders as the B2BM behind Paddy I am thinking who is Kane and son?...just my personal opinion ...

I have a feeling we may see a lot more of Rodrigo slotting in to the place Roberts occupied for most of this season. He's certainly capable, and if he's amenable we could score a lot of goals next year with Raphinha, Bamford, Rodrigo, and Harrison all on the pitch together.

Sadly, I agree with you here. I hear many a mate who slate him even still, after scoring 16 goals and assisting plenty. As an England fan who would love to see him play for England, I still think he'd be better declaring himself for Ireland.

What I want to hear in the last game is that the commentators on the television will refer to Patrick as Lord Bamford. That would be fun. Just imagine the commentary. It would be high class if Lord Bamford scored a goal.

Strikers face far more scrutiny than players in Kalvin's position and as a result are the most common scapegoats (along with the manager himself) for a nation's ire. Given our media are best described as bloodthirsty inquisitors in that regard, sparing not a thought as they tear down our players in the most frenzied way possible, it's just not something I wish on Paddy.

Southgate himself comes into the equation with his tactics that don't really generate the number of chances Paddy would be used to and has already faced criticism for that alone. So really it's a question of managerial ability, style and what effect the mantle of England striker would have on Paddy.

That's probably the best way I can explain it for now, no doubt others can add to it or lay it out more effectively than I.

Whether he is international class or not is up for debate but how in gods name Bamford doesnt get in the provisional squad ahead of Watkins and Calvert-Lewin is a mystery.

Top scorer for a team that finished above both of them.

Had a better minutes to goal ratio than Watkins by a mile (238 mins to 180 mins) and got more assists, it isnt even close between them.

Has the same minutes to goal ratio as Calvert-Lewin but had 7 assists to Lewin 0.

Really weird, hard to know what more he could possibly do.

Maybe its that inverted snobism that exists in football or maybe its the biggest fraud at the Euros showing favouritism to his ex club.

Think once Ollie made the previous squad he was going to get in over Bamford in this squad.

Calvert Lewin is a different mould of striker but he’s not been in good form for a while I would’ve thought he would be the likelier to miss out. Oh and there’s Greenwoood
