RIP, I always liked him on Look North, when I didn't have to put up with the biased East Mids local news

Awfully sad news. I remember him retiring during Covid, he didn't want to be in the studio that night but appeared live from Barnsley instead. So many well wishes went to see him, giving him gifts live on Look North which he gratefully received.

However, I think it was very unfair of Look North to leave it to the delightful Amy to break the news to viewers as she was obviously going to be extremely upset, she and Harry were very close. Such a shame you asked that of her Look North producers!

In my first incarnation as an advertising man I worked with Harry quite a bit, voice overs and corporate infomercials, that kind of stuff. A great professional and a lovely man to boot, pretty much first time every time. I call it my privilege to have worked with him.

Dame Deborah James passed away from bowel cancer the other day.

She was only 40 years old.

A tireless campaigner in her last few years.

RIP.

Brave brave woman.

I had bowel cancer last year.

Had a 10 hour op to remove it and so far so good.

Like the lady said, check your poo people. It certainly saved my life when I reported it.

Was he. Doctor Who?
In his nineties and a career spanning 7 decades.
I remember him from a Fawlty Towers episode.

Ah yes :)

Cheese salad!!!!

He was yeah he was apparently in it decades ago.

He was bought back in in the 2000s as a new character when David Tennant and Catherine Tate were Dr and companion (he played her grandfather) then was sort of the Dr's companion himself for a brief while.

Tennant and Tate are back filming some anniversary special for 2023 (60th anniversary or whatever It is now). They both left the show over a decade ago now.

Bernard Cribbins was pictured on set being pushed around by Tennant in a wheelchair recently so clearly has a cameo atleast.

Presumably his last role

I haven't watched it for years but will watch that
