"We regret to announce that Sunday’s north London derby against Arsenal has been postponed.

This follows an application from Arsenal to the Premier League on the basis of a combination of COVID, existing and recent injuries and players on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

We are extremely surprised that this application has been approved.

We ourselves were disqualified from the European Conference League after a significant number of COVID cases meant we needed to reschedule a fixture and our application to move our Leicester fixture was not approved - only for it to be subsequently postponed when Leicester applied.

The original intention of the guidance...was to deal with player availability directly affected by COVID cases, resulting in depleted squads that when taken together with injuries would result in the club being unable to field a team.

We do not believe it was the intent to deal with player availability unrelated to COVID.

We may now be seeing the unintended consequences of this rule.

It is important to have clarity and consistency on the application of the rule.

Yet again fans have seen their plans disrupted at unacceptably short notice.

We shall once again send food deliveries to the local food banks to avoid unacceptable waste.

We are sincerely sorry for our fans - some of whom will have travelled great distances."

Couldn't agree more.
Paragraph 7

'We may now be seeing the unintended consequences of this rule'

I've been saying it for weeks. This rule has been abused by clubs to suit themselves and has become a disgrace. Sort it FA!

Let them stack their games up, they'll be t' first to moan when laking 3 times a week.
Could well go in our favour .

Villa have bought attacking players with good technique and talent and then instilled a work ethic.

We do the total opposite.

Unfortunately for us you can't teach talent and ability . . . .

We have sold defensive players with poor technique and no talent and then told them not to work???

Looking like it'll be abandoned
Some lunatic threw a lethal length of what looks like
Metal tubing...and hit the seville players head
Betis had just got the equaliser and were celebrating when the lunatic struck.

Hull v Stoke

A decent game with Stoke looking good as they lead 1-0 with a super header.

D'Margio Wright-Phillips a dead-ringer of his dad Shaun & grandson of Ian has been influential on his league debut

Phil Jagielka also making his Stoke debut who only joined the club yesterday.

Another new recruit, Lewis Baker (remember him), who joined from Chelsea, settles for a place on the bench.

Stoke seem to a fair bit of experience in their squad with Jagielka, Ince, Tommy Smith, Jame Chester, Joe Allen & Sam Clucas

Brighton looked very good again today.
Once more I was very impressed with Cucurella. He is the real deal.
Extremely jealous that they got him and we got Junior.
